i realise this sounds a little strange ??? but let me explain
i know a few chelskea supporters and i occasionally chat to them (through gritted teeth ) 2 of these guys have become so disilusioned with the direction their club has been going that they have stopped supporting them .
the reasons they have said is abramovic,s millions have destroyed the club , it does not matter what chelskea win this season or the season after ..... it is all to do with roman abramovic .
jose mourinho said it and a lot of their supporters say it his money takes away from any achievement that will ever happen .
another reason they tell me is the conduct and behaviour of the greedy players lampard and co who show absolutely no loyalty to the team and hold the club to ransom to get a better deal .
i appreciate that we are in the middle of our darkest hour , in saying that i would prefer to be languishing at the bottom of the league , than be in chelseas position .
i have never heard a spurs supporter say i cant bring myself to support our team , i have however heard 2 long time chelskea supporters say this .
manchester city had a proud working class history and they will in my opinion be a bigger joke than the chelskea in a few seasons .
a football team should be about the supporters not about billionaire owners , ridiculios player wages and dirty agents corroding and infecting the game .
this is why i believe we are in a better position than chelskea , would you ever stop supporting tottenham ? exactly .

"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."

Those "supporters" if you can call them that are in a very small minority, there isnt a single sane person on here who actually thinks were in a better position than the chavs, talk about grasping at straws mate.
Give me their success over ours every single time, were in deep **** simple as that.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
I can see Bazza's point here, when we played Chelsea in the carling cup final, everybody who was not a chelsea fan wanted spurs to turn them over. This is because I think most football fans do not agree in the mega rich owners coming into football and buying their way to success. Due to this our win over them was even more special as it was believed guts, determination and hardwork can overcome some rich oil barron's millions.
Give me a football clubs tradition and nostalgia any day, this is what makes me love Spurs. Would I want a foriegn billionaire in charge of us? Never.

there success ? what exactly did they win last season ? and as for grasping for straws i am putting across my opinion !!! minority or not there is a section of supporters with the same mindset .
maybe if you posted something of some content , you would not need to shout everyone elses posts down. (yidno1)

Great wel all enjoy winning nothing and not getting with the times but hey at least we can hold our heads up high while the other teams continue to dominate, unreal!!!!!!
F*ck Stratford!!!!
Its attitudes such as yourself that has everyone laughing at us, so your really saying sitting there saying that our CC win out shines all of what the Chavs have won even if fuelled by money????
I think youl find most sane people who dont visit the fairies every now and again will agree with much of what i say about Spurs.
The thing is mate I say it how it REALLY is and i certainly dont sit there and think of stupid topics to post up that puts us in an even dimmer light by others.
Continue though as i find it amusing :canabis:
F*ck Stratford!!!!
the point of this particular post was to highlight the fact that football is becoming more about super rich playboys and not the fans , who in reality built their respective clubs .
the premiership could given a season or two finish like this
man city
chelskea
man utd
liverpool
stinks to high heaven , but this is the future with the premiership looking more like the scottish league with 2 or 3 teams dominating season in .... season out .
pesky billionaire playboys !!!

So what do we do then just simpley wash our hands of foreign input that could catapult us into Champions league football because im sorry were never going to reach it as we are.
I used to be dead against it like your self but ive woken up to the fatc that i want to see my team actually win something of note before i DIE!
We need a new stadium or redeveloment of the Lane and with a billionaire on board we will actually compeat and not just always be looked upon as the nearly men.
If im a sell out then so be it.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
no what i would suggest is a cap on players earnings ! worldwide , this may not be viable but it would sort out this particular problem and any foreign input would be stadium develpment , youth team development , community development , evryone is a winner !!! except unbelievably over paid players that is .

I too was aginast the billionaire takeover at first as we have a strong heritage and history that should be preserved and cannot be bought at any cost.
However we will get left behind if we are not snapped up sharpish.
The only hope we have in footballing terms is a worldwide recession forcing the mega rich clubs to be sold on at a pittance or even collapse due to increasing interest rates on their hughe debts.
Its not nice but it is the other option other that would see us compete on a leve playing field again other than a takeover.
The investment can work well. You failed to mention the man behind Villa who bankrolls them, as he does it firmly on the QT!!!
Now I dont know alot about cash other than how to spend the fooker bt things are changing fast in the financial world and I dont expect that now is a good time to be splashing the cash on a multi million pound investment, especially one that is in the predicament that we are in.

I agree with u in a way Bazza as i would hate for a billionaire with minimal knowledge of the game to come in and ruin the club. To many of them, they dont even need the money, its more of a 'toy' so to speak.
In the other hand, if it would guarantee us success then i would be all for it. Man City should be competing in the next 2 or 3 years and who else is next? Villa have been bought over and they have the makings of a great side with alot of money to spend when they need to. So why not Tottenham Hotspur?
The Carling Cup is a great achievement and i would never take that away from the club or supporters but with a club as big as ours we really should be competing in the top 4 at least, especially when you look at the players that have come through the doors over the years... Klinsmann, Ginola, Berbatov to name but a few.
If the billions could be spent for the good of the team and if I could see us win the Premiership, well it would be great. Unfortunatley with the current squad we have I dont beleive it to be possible and I will have to continue dreaming!!!
Bazza was talking about the difference in other people's perception's of tottenham and chelsea, he was talking about the difference in the way we as fans perceive our respective club's it wasn't until yidno1 started to get insulting that bazza strayed from his original post... did you fail to read his original post?
He was talking about rival fans perceptions of tottenham and chelsea, people like spurs... everyone hates chelsea even chelsea fans.
Bazza didnt originally make the comment on the previous season yidno1 did and bazza followed on from that.
Bazza started out talking about "chelsea fans leaving the club and the reasons they have said is abramovic's millions have destroyed the club , it does not matter what chelskea win this season or the season after ..... it is all to do with roman abramovic "
And " I appreciate that we are in the middle of our darkest hour , in saying that i would prefer to be languishing at the bottom of the league , than be in chelseas position "
I completely agree with this as spurs still has its own identity and is still looked upon as a football club where as when someone mentions chelsea the first thing anyone thinks is ROMAN ABROMAVICH'S money.
It will hurt me if spurs get relegated, it'll hurt alot but I'l still be spurs through and through where as chelsea fan's are stopping their support for the team even while chelsea are winning and being a succesfull team.... this to me say's alot for the kind of people that follow chelsea.
