I been thinking about the january transfer window today at work. I really think that to keep the fans happy and for the good of the team Levy is going to have to open his wallet in a big way.

Its clear we are still lacking in many positions even though we brought in quite a few players over the summer. Ideally we need another STRONG central defender at least. Dawson just can't cut it atm and our defense is looking pretty vunerable. People would argue with defense is the most important area of the field. No matter how good your strikers are if teams can tear your defense up with ease you are shagged. I can't really think of many defenders that we could pick up. Like spurs this is a position i don't pay much attention too.

Also its clear we need a ballwinner in midfield. Essentially a defensive midfielder who isn't afraid to get stuck in and fight for the ball when we aren't playing well. Someone like Gatuso would be great. Veloso would have been a great asset to the team aswell. Shame comolli didn't do his job and sign him over the summer.

Last but not least the striker role. This has easily been our weakest area this season. We don't really have anyone who can put the ball in the back of the net. We though Darren Bent might do the business for us this season but clearly hasn't. IMO we don't want people like that at the club. If we want to move forward we need to get the average players out. Comolli made another massive mistake not signing Andrei Arshavin. I very much doubt we could sign him in january now. Our team feels like it is close to clicking and being great but we are just missing that spark. With our poor start we might not be able to attract that player can give us that spark.
Another couple of player's which i really think we should look at is Podolski and Huntelaar. We were linked with them in the summer but nothing happened. These guys score goals for fun though and either of them would easily bang in 20+ goals a season for spurs.

I hope that Levy and Comolli really go for it in January and proove to us they are worthy of managing this great club. They can't mess about like in summer missing out on deals for the sake of 3million pounds.

Aside from a left winger it's the same positions we knew we had to fill at the start of the summer, whats the chances they'll actually deliver this time?

In my opinion we need to improve on our league position if we want to have any hope of attracting even average players to the club, never mind improving on average. No-one will want to join us at the bottom of the league even if we are Spurs!

Haha i dont think any of those top class players would join use atm
not trying to be mean or anything but being realistic....

      Huntellar? Podoski?

The only players that most likely join Spurs would be those who are
close to retiring and looking for more challenges.... but other then that dont get your hopes up about those singings..

Selling Berbatov and Keane has been a real blow for you guys, use wont get relegated but this will be a hard season for spurs supporters.

I am looking foward to spurs vs arsenal

Agree with what Nick says. We need somebody in the Dave Mackay mould.

Yeah you must still be drying your eyes from the 5-1 drubbing :wavey:

I believe that the management will come through for us in january and get the players we need. They won't do this because they want too... They will do it because they have too. There is alot of pressure on them and the fans are already frustrated.

Good Evening, January is a bad time to buy, just hope Comolli
and Ramos are distant memories by then, and that the new
Manager can bring in who he wants. A few tweaks to build on
what we have, rather than wholesale changes...
I believe we have the basis of a very good side.
      Kindest Regards Slim.

We will have to fill the positions you mentioned, and in an ideal world with the exact names you mentioned (Gatuso......).

However as somone else mentioned might have even been the goon, we wont attract that type of player and will have to settle for second rate scrappers to get us out if the brown stuff.

Gotta bath the kid so be back on this is a while........................

I heard a talksport show with wright on the other day and he said he didnt have the hatred for spurs as he isnt a goon fan! It did make me laugh hearing the goon fans responce, they wernt to pleased. He went up in my estimation after that!

We definatly need a gattuso type player in our team and obviously a forward. As slim said, hopfully we have a new manager and are shot of comoli by the time that comes.

Gotta ask after the well documented problems Jol had with Camoli, why did Rambo agree to sign a contract that didnt entitle him to buy/request his own players.

      I just dont get it?

i was under the impression that he only agreed to sign if he had control of everything!!! so either he;s been bullied into it or the media havent got a clue!!!! most likely the latter!

If that is the case about his contract they why does Camoli even still have a job???

Cant be right surely, can it. Who was Rambo's sporting director at Sevilia? We know that he works well with him.
