Simple question. Why did Levy sack Jol and think Ramos would do a better job?
that it is a great question. You should ask the man himself. I think Jol was sick of comolli sticking his nose into business./
Martin Jol had the presence, passion and pride of a present day Bill Nicholson, that's why he couldn't work with Comolli
.....and obsessed with havin a supposed winner from Spain !! Dont think he reckoned Jol was big enough for the club IMO. Oh how wrong he was !!
I think the Jol sacking was purely down to Jol's and Commoli's relationship. A bad start after two great campaigns was the half excuse Levy needed.
if only Levy wasn't bumming Commoli so hard we could get the tosser out.
I agreed with the sacking of Jol as did alot og others only the way it done was very wrong.
Lets not forget the amount of leads we chucked away under Jol when is decision making to close games out backed fired on us on numerous occasions, the chelsea match at the bridge FA Cup 3-1 up ended up going out, the scum at home in CC the same outcome again.
As much as Jol was a true gent he had limited ideas for Spurs, Ramos was seen a s the saviour and you couldnt blame Levy for getting this guy with his Seville record.
But its not working with this guy now and i repeat myself again and again hes taking us backwards!
F*ck Stratford!!!!
Jol is much better than ramos. I liked jol.. He always spoke to the fans!!!. Ramos never comes out and says anything.
Ramos his tactics are terrible and this season is already down the pan
would love to see jol back
martin jol - hes got no hair but we dont care martin , martin jol !!!
he was sacked because the board members became impatient with our poor start and they thought mj was not up to the the job of taking us into the champions league...........Ramos is the guy the board thought was capable of getting their but so far were heading in the opposite direction
Cooooooome ooooooooon uuuuuuu spuuuuuuuurz
arty:
the way jol was treated was bang out of order he was undermined by the board timt and time again , i cannot see ramos ever getting us into the top ten never mind a top 5 finish .
levy is an idiot and has been made to look like one with his disgraceful pursuit of a prize turkey .
(ramos) .
martin jol was a cracking manager , not saying he did not make mistakes but he did a better job than jr .

I heard a rumour that Jol was so frustrated with the Comolli situation that he had one eye on other managerial opportunities during the summer of 2007. Levy got wind of this and it detroyed any relationship they had. As soon as we lost a couple of games it gave Levy the perfect opportunity to get rid. I have no idea how true this is but its the story I heard at the time.
I have been supporting Spurs for many years but I have never felt as disappointed as the day Jol left (and no, I'm not talking about the Getafe defeat). He had the charisma and appreciated the fans, both are sadly lacking now. It felt like a different Spurs when Ramos took over, the 'connection' between the fans and the managerial team had gone, imo. I know he was a bit one-dimensional tactically and had probably taken us as far as he could but I'll never forget big Martin Jol and would welcome him back tomorrow.
Anyway, I'm off the the Bundesliga to support Hamburg, their top of the league, don't ya know! (incidently Klinsmann has led Bayern Munich to their worst start in 30 odd years, something to bear in mind for those who will be championing his name when Ramos goes...)
A lot may disagree, but the last thing we want right now is another change of manager. I agree with a lot of the comments about Jol, I liked the guy, but once they undermined him by going behind his back, it was over. The press in this country are a nightmare, pushing for Ramos to get the sack so that they can go on again about how many managers we have had during Wengers spell at the Arse. Lets all laugh at Spurs, again!! Although everyone is already laughing, we have to stick with it and hopefully Ramos will turn it round. I know at the moment it is hard to believe, but a few wins and a bit of confidence can change all that.
Nice post mate.
