Ok first of all. No smart ass comments like "kill myself", "play players in the right places" etc.
Alright try and imagine you are are the little spaniard Juande Ramos. You are the manager of spurs and they are playing terrible and you are taking alot of the blame. What would you guys do this week leading upto wisla and the games ahead? What would you do to motivate the players?
I would do / have done this.... After the portsmouth games i would have gathered them and told them that they had the rest of the night to do what they please but they need to be in training first thing the next morning. This would give them a bit of time to think about the game on there own etc.
Next day i wouldn't jump straight on the pitch i would sit them all in a room together and try and get them to bond a little bit. They aren't really playing as a team and there is no trust or confidence.
So get them all in a nice comfortable room and get them to talk about how they are feeling and what they are afraid of. It must be quite nerve racking for these guys... Every time they step out on the pitch they have the whole club/fans and manager on there shoulders. They know they aren't performing and the fans are pissed off. I know it sounds kinda faggy but i really think if they opened up to eachother they would bond as a team.
Then get them to watch the portsmouth game and critique it and ask them to talk about where they think they were wrong in terms of the football they are playing. Try and really get them on a positive note that although they are playing bad they are great players and they can play brilliant football.
In the afternoon i would get them to have a really light training/friendly training session with alot of one touch football helping them to develop confidence in eachother and hopefully to give them a better understanding of eachothers games.
After get them to eat there meals as a team encouraging a good friendly atmosphere.
Hopefully a day like this would encourage there confidence and get them more upbeat.
Ramos really needs to get them team into a positive mindframe. Maybe even get a sports psychologist like Bob Rotella in to talk to them.
So to summarise...
We clearly have a great team we just have to convince them that they are a great team and get them to play like we know they can.
- Get them to have an open discussion about how they are feeling and what they want to achieve.
- Create a more positive atmosphere and try to relieve some of the pressure from the players.
- Get them to have a really light training session in friendly way. Alot of banter and one touch football.
Thoughts?
p.s I am extremely bored at work.
I would chat to the players and try built confidence within the team and get them working as a teamAs for ramos i think he is trying to give everyone a chance to prove to him they should b in the team and then he shall pick his best team
Hopefully he will pick the ruight players that will put there all into the game a show they are worthy of a place in the starting 11

Pick a formation !! Sort out that god awful defence (as per usual), get JD back in January or sign this Arshavin fella.
Review some videos of our last games - the clues are all there surely ?? Get rid of Gilberto/Zokora (how he keeps getting MOTM is beyond me). Get Bale and Gunter together releasing Lennon/Bentley to do there stuff, get Hutton fixed, play Corluka in the centre alongside Modric and get Campbell alongside Pav !!
Or go home amigo !!
Put them all on player performance releated bonuses, watch the useless ones perform then.
The only other answer i got is smart ass one so here goes, id order a one way ticket back to Spain.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
Sitting them in a room to talk wouldnt help, as its not their natural enviroment.
They get frusrtated with one onother on the pitch and for what ever reason dont have the balls to speak their minds and say what they think to one another.
I would ask them where they think its going wrong. If any of them have the balls to speak up and be honnest then the sparks and the ideas would flow and things would get sorted.
It would also give the team and the manager dialogue to speak their minds on performances and options. If anyone has beef then they could have a roll around, get it sorted and show the team some real fighting spirit.
This could however take some of his power away and contrive to have players speaking out of turn. He would need to do it in a way that he keeps controll and gets all the frustration and ideas out but in a controlled mannor as opposed to a bararge of abuse and swearing.
It would impower the team and give them responsibility for their performances to an extent, He could have the team and club captain sitting by his side along with Gus to talk to the players as his kinda support to controll the abuse.
As for the smart arse comments, TAXI FOR RAMOS!!!
I would most agree with your 1st post, a good talk around the table, give confidence back, talk about better game play/formation because lets be honest 4-5-1 is crap...always has been always will be...
We beat chealsea in the final last year with 4-4-2, why change a winning formation against a club in the top 4...
Coooome oooon yoooou spuuuurs, cooome ooon yooou spuuurs.
they all dont speak english so that could be a problem as well, also ramos doesnt either.
ramos DOES speak english
he just doesnt to media as they maipulate what he may say (well thats an excuse ive been given) but he can speak english

Bentley vs. Arsenal 4-4
Rose vs. Arsenal 2-1
Seeing all the yidos smiling at last- Priceless
so the players sit around a table and just give each other confidence???? it aint the boy scouts mate!!!!
as for 4-5-1 it hasnt always been crap plenty of teams have done well with it....admittedly not us recently but wat can we do if u dont want bent anywhere near the pitch! u think pav(who is injured now)and campbell?
and the only reason we beat chelski in the final was because we went 4 4 2? how many times over the last 10 years have we went 4 4 2 against the top 4 and how many times have we beat them? the 5th of november agaisnt the chelski is the only one that springs to mind for me! maybe we beat the goons once in that time in the league but i aint counting the 5 1 mauling!
As a matter of fact we can't play 4-4-2 for obvious reasons. ok, we might be able to make the numbers as far as the attack is concerned, but it's not going to work. fact: pav and bent could hardly manage 20 goals between them per season and that includes uefa&carling cup.
I've been seriously thinking if we could really play 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-2-2-1. Let's debate:
4-2-3-1 is hot. This is simply how spain finally managed to get over the perennial chockers tag. except for the fact they've got torres. and xavi. and a lot of other players we could only dream of. replace torres with bent, bring in huddlestone for xavi alonso or xavi and yes, I'll second that - it's not going to work!
4-1-2-2-1 could have been lucrative with berbatov. it worked wonders last year for bayern munich with toni as a single target striker. but we sold berbatov to mancs and comolli brought frazier cambell in as a replacement.
i think we've got some serious issues with skills shortage among our team and it looks like we've managed to **** ourselves over. We can't simply play any of the classic systems due to the lack of suitable players. I do really hope we could sort this out in January.
What is really driving me insane is that we've got a well paid manager to figure this out and what he did was simply nothing. just contemplating what it's rapidly turning into a disaster. That's why I want ramos to go. He has been here for one year and the team went from bad to worse...he seems to be just a money grabbing type of guy and nothing more. I really hope I will have to eat my words someday and will need to google for a perfect recipe of Humble Pie![]()
COYS
to dare is to do
if i were ramos i would
hit comolli in the face for not giving me a striker, come out to the halfway line and say that
hes been joking this whole time and in reality he does know what he is doing!
then play the people in the correct position for the first time.

Bentley vs. Arsenal 4-4
Rose vs. Arsenal 2-1
Seeing all the yidos smiling at last- Priceless
if i were ramos i would resort to old-skool football.
4-4-2 simple passing, organised defending, getting the crosses in whenever you can, taking the long shots, no trying cheeky through balls, no fancy footwork at the halfway line, no tricks, using pace, passing and off-the-ball movement to get through, with the two strikers waiting in the box for the crosses, long hopefull balls if bent and pav are playing.
Basically not always trying to create something, but concentrating on playing the simple, right way.
