Our position now reminds me of the summer Santini took over - Big name manager, big expectations followed rubbish results and poor performances. He was shortly removed and his unknown assistant, a certain Martin Jol, took over, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I fully expect the same senario to happen this year, by this time next week (maybe 2) I expect Ramos to be gone, I am a realist and I can only see us getting knocked out of the UEFA and struggling (maybe a draw) against Hull at the weekend.
I can only hope the unproven, inexperienced Assistant Manager comes good and we have another Martin Jol on our hands
Finally - IF (if's & buts...) we didn't win the Carling Cup, would Ramos still be in charge now, or would he have gone earlier? I feel the Cup Final only helped to temporarily paper over some monumental cracks.

There is one major difference between the Santini/Jol and Ramos/Poyet partnerships.....
Frank Arnesen vs. Damien twunting Comolli.
Arnesen's recommendation to Levy was to bring Jol in to manage the team. Levy went for Santini because we needed a "big name". Santini walked out because he couldn't work with Arnesen (and by the way, we were considerably higher in the league table at that stage than we are now!), and the Arnesen-Jol partnership worked well.
Then Arnesen effed off to Chelsea - is he still there? - and bloody Comolli came in. Ramos was Comolli and Levy's pick in a way that Santini was never Arnesen's. Similarly, Jol most definitely was Arnesen's choice. Does the same apply to Poyet and Comolli?
I don't think it matters. Comolli is an idiot. Arnesen clearly knew what he was doing.
I'm rambling. I shall stop.
Every day that passes and Comolli is not sacked I hate Levy even more.
I agree - I didn't realise about the full story regarding the appointments of the relevant management teams, but having read your post I can see the differences. We all know where the real weak 'link' is in our managerial team, and it's not in the dugout.
As much as I hate Arnesen for walking out I have to admit he was good in that role, something Comolli has only succeeded in highlighting.
Good Morning, if Ramos is sacked, Gus in temp charge
would at least let us see if he would change things...
I'm not sure about Gus on his own to be honest, but
Ramos days are surely numbered.
The other difference? Jol had already proven himself as a manager in the netherlands with very average teams to work with. Gus has never had sole charge of a side.
If Gus wernt happy with being tard with the "Ramos daft tactits" brush he would either speak up or walk.
His reputation is up the swanny right now and his only escape is to walk or speak up.
Ramos I think is beyond help and I cant think what he is actually up to.
Gus couldnt do a worse job than this clown.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
Give Gus a chance on his own....... Ramos doesn't know what he's at. Comolli has to go to. He should've gone instead of Jol!
To be honest I was actually gutted when Frank Arnesen left Spurs. I agree with Yidno1.

I think Poyet would do a really good job on his own but would still b gutted to see ramos go![]()
This is where the truth resides. It's really up to Gus. Either he's the real deal or he actually agrees with Ramos' choices so far. I do like both of them together though. It's painful to see these team selections each match however. What are they getting at? These guys could both be big hits, they're blowing it with incredible players at their disposal, come one gaffers, give us something to smile about again!
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."

The big problem with Ramos from my point of view is he has no idea of the best starting 11 and every week the starting 11 is different and has been since the start of the season and for him to come out the other week and say it could take upto 15 games for the team to settle is just not good enough we will not have that sort of time to turn this crap around, lets be honest we are in trouble now! we cannot wait another 9 games or so,imo Ramos has 2 games to turn it around at best otherwise we could be doomed if we are not already! SAD SAD DAYS!
