I guess i'm just worried about where the goals are gonna come from. I'm getting really annoyed with these so called pundits/presenters banging on about how much we've spent, when they fail to mention the players we've let go. In Berbatov we've lost the guy who made everything happen, hard to say but he did, and in Keane we've lost the leading voice in the dressing room, the guy who drove the team (Ledders ain't a leader) and the guy who read Berbatov the best, not to mention the 50 goals a season we've now lost...just concerns me the lack of goals in the team. Pavlyuchenko i think will come good, just feels like we're kinda back at square one, good young players, but no real direction and i don't think Ramos even knows his best team yet. What does everyone think of Jenas by the way??

Give me some words of comfort guys,

      Laters

Just have patience buddy. It'll come good in the end. Provided Comolli doesn't get involved, we have just begun to rebuild and should have a settled team by Christmas ready to bring the FA Cup back home. we will climb up the league so just hang in there.

In response to your Jenas question - I don't think he is good enough for the club we aspire to be (top 4). One good performance every 4 or 5 games doesn't really cut it at the top level. Would he make the Ar*e, Chelski, Liverpool or Man Utd first team?

When the newbies settle in (hopefully sooner than later) we will be a force to be reckoned with & will compete with the big guns of the league & cup ..but i dont think that it will be happening this season coz for pava, modric & gio it will be a learning experience this season .It will be next season when we get some good signings in the jan transfer window to replace what was robbed from us, is when we will come good & be challengers to the trophys .

Yes we need time for the team to learn each others ways, need another striker and another defensive mid. My greatest worry this seaon is I cannot see where UEFA cup qualification is going to come from. Failing to get into this cup could cost us some our best talent. Jenas is not good enough, we need to get rid of him quick. His space needs to be occupied by a strong defnesive mid player.

I think that Jenas and Modric as a central midfield pairing will struggle. We desperately need someone who can break up the play and feed Modric so he can do what he does best, but I don't think these type of players are easy to find. Up front, I do believe that Pav will come good when they find a decent partner to play along side him, if I could choose one it would be Owen. The problem is come January if we have not improved it's not going to be easy to lure quality players to the Lane.

to behonest i think the players and manager are not good enough. it hurts me to say it BUT the tactics from ramos have been terrible this season, he never comes out and talks and i think he uses the "i dont speak english" as a excuse. the players are very lightweight... modric was pushed off the ball everytime he played this season, jenas i have never liked. pav said he finds the training hard and gilberto is probably the worst player i ever seen in a spurs shirt.

i dont think we will get relegated however i cant see us in the top 10.

      worrying times.

You said it yiddo ! Difficult season indeed !

I look at the forthcoming fixtures and I just cant see where the points are coming from on curent form - beating Stoke looks beyond us at the moment.

My other concern is the almost inevitable failure to make europe next season (do we qualify if we win the UEFA Cup?) and the obvious loss of Bale at least.

      Scared sh*tless YID !!

The fact is that there is now a need for change and we are seeing Levy caught yet again in the cross hairs again

Unfortunately - I have to be brutal. The reality is very clear. We're in the total s***.

I'm a bit of a stats nerd. I'll keep it simple - we have 2 points from 8 games. We have yet to play the top 4 in all but one game (that makes 7 games). Does anyone honestly think we'll get any points from these? So that could easily be 15 games with 2 points.

It's well known that you need 40 points to make it safe in a season - that means the oh so mighty Spurs will ned - 38points (at the very least) from the remaining 20 odd games. Which means - say 10 wins and 8 draws and only 2 losses.

Now go through the rest of the season. Where are we going to get 10 wins from? If we can't beat Stoke, Hull - what chances will we have with the middle weight likes of Middelesbrough, Aston Villa, Everton etc etc?

Sorry to be brutal - but the sums are clear to see. We 100% need a win on Sunday. Forget about UEFA football next season - we're talking Premiership football here and that is looking more and more unlikely. We cannot let this go on till Christmas. If Levy had good advice, and i'm a pure novice who's just done some basic sums - surely he can see that this needs changing immediately.

    11. These users same thanks for this post

On the basis of the benchmark being 40 points, we are in deep, deep ****.

Looking more deeply at the numbers the last time a side that stayed up needed 40+ points was six seasons ago. The benchmark is actually in the mid to high 30s nowadays based on recent experience. Even in those seasons where teams that survived accumulated 40, it would've been possible to stay up with less than 40, that was how far adrift the bottom three were.

But that's by the by..... We were talking about this out in Italy yesterday over several beers and pizza. Let's stick to near enough 40. Away from home we have been horrible for a good few years so the most we're likely to pick up on our travels is about ten points. That leaves you still needing near enough another 30. So, 15 games left to go at home, all the big four still to play, which means zero from those basically. Leaving 11 games from which to pick up 30 points.

Ten wins out of eleven games. Looks bleak, dunnit?
