being reported that cappello is considering recalling darren bent for the coming game against the czech republic, this would be just reward for the hard work, and great form he has shown in pre-season, would give him extra confidence, and would send him into the new season with the determination to score as many goals as he could to keep himself in the england reckoning

i think that it would be good if he does get the call up. but its only been pre season, not the toughest of competition. that and the source s the sun! but i hope it is true, the guy deserves it, hes obviously put alot of effort in the earn his place at spurs

He defiantly deserves it, and would be a HUGE boost for his confidence, (not that he even needs it at the moment) im sure if he does it will benefit tottenham too, so i really hope its true
For too long players like Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney have got in to the side and squad because of reputation. They perform **** on the pitch and still get picked. While I don't think Bent has done enough to get in the squad ahead of any big names, carry this form into the real matches and I may well change my tune
Hmmm im in two minds about this, although im right behind Darren now as hes been on fire pre-season and banging em in for fun I cant help but feel he should be doing this in the Prem to earn an England call up.
However its not like weve got prolific strikers at the mo for England so i guess hes worth a try.

i reckon bent deserves an england call up !!! why not i dont see anyone else knocking them in like him at the moment .

Minimum this will do is boost the lads confidence. And like otheres hae said if he continues his form into the season then it would be deserved.
Hope for us and England he earns his call up by banging in goals from all over the park.
This would top off a brilliant preseason for Bent. Like it's been said already, this would be an amazing confidence booster for him. Whatever will keep the fire lit under his a** so he'll continue to score is fine by me!
bent came to the spurs as a big name only because we had robbie defoe and berba i believe he
would have been a starter this season could be a revalation for him hope it will be come on the spurs

I agree with the posts already this would be great for his confidence and I hope he lights it up and becomes a regular maybe he can help England qualify for the WC 2010
