We have a real opportunity to rack up some points with our fixtures at the beginning of this season. The real tests will be Aston Villa at home & Chelsea away (obviously). However, I think we have a real chance of nicking some points there and if we can at least get 1 point from each of those 2 games then we've could easily be right up there.
Middlesborough, Sunderland, Wigan, Portsmouth, Hull, Stoke & Bolton. I would hope to take 3 points off each of those games to be honest which means, by the time we meet Arsenal & Liverpool we could already have 23 points on the board (if we take draws off Villa & Chelsea).

Yeah like the optomism. i would take 20 points to be fair at that stage.
I would probably take less than that even. however, if you take each game as it comes (which is exactly how the boys will be looking at it) and look at each team individually then, I have to say, I would hope for 3 points over all of them. It all depends on our away form really and we can set a precedent at the Riverside against Middlesborough.
There is no reason though that we shouldn't take all 3 points from each of them (Villa & Chelsea excepted) &, if we have aspirations of a top 4 finish, we relly ought to be winning those games. We will have a good idea of this team's progression under Ramos pretty quickly I reckon.
that wil be the difference this year if there is to be one.
we have to pick up the easy points and take away all 3 against the lesser opposition and then hope for the 1 points at the big games like man u at OT. this will get us top 5.
not losing to sunderland first game of the season like last year.
I agree! I think we can get 3 points from all of the teams above. Villa & Chelsea are going to be the real test for us.
But how many times did we control games last year only to fade out after 60 mins and end up drawing or losing. Man Utd at the Lane is a prime example!
Villa are probally losing Barry, Everton haven't made any moves at all so I think that if nothing else we will get the 5 or 6 spot at the worst and on a podcast here in america I heard them saying that "even if SPurs don't get into the top 4 they are going to scare the crap out of them"
Hopefully Drogba will be still out when we play Chelsea![]()
we have a great opportunity to get off to a flyer this season and i reckon we could take points off chelsea and villa .
i am not being unrealistic when i say that remember we have a strong phycological advantage over
the scum and i cannot wait for the season to start .
