I know it is a little odd, and I don't really want it to happen, but I, for one, wont be too disappointed with a defeat at the weekend. The last two seasons expectations have been very high and we have gone into the season buzzing after superb pre season performances ,only for the bubble to burst when the real action gets underway. For this reason I am willing to accept a defeat this weekend if it means it keeps us on our toes when Middlesborough comes round. This is not to say that I don't hope we tonk them and then get off to a flyer as well and I trust that Juande will ensure that will happen., just that if defeat and a little wake up call this weekend means a better start than the last two seasons I will not be complaining.
I know what you mean and you raise a good point in that we easily get carried away. However, like I posted in a separate thread the other day, I do feel its different this year for exactly that. We, as fans, as well as our players seem to be alot more grounded this time around. Last year in itself taught us an important lesson in humility and I don't think we are in danger of complacency so I think its important to keep the winning mentality and the ruthlessness to kill off games that we so badly lacked last season.
Really looking forward to the game on Sunday, seeing all the new spurs boys
also looking forward to seeing the likes of Totti, Mexes, De Rossi
Maybe Rambo can do a couple of cheeky bids while they are here
unsertsand what ur saying mate but i think the main problem with us last season was our fitness levels........however this season I can see a huge difference in our fitness.
this should bold well for the coming season
Cooooooome ooooooooon uuuuuuu spuuuuuuuurz

For god sake drop the defeatest attitude, this is why we get labbled as losers for accepting defeats to easy!!!
Im going to the Lane to see this match and I expect nothing less than a win against a Roma side that isnt exactly great, with the recent form weve showed and the money spent on very good players theres no reason to be so negative.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
I say we make a statement to the rest of Europe and keep our good form and beat Roma 2-0 or 3-1
Thats more like it ^^^^^
F*ck Stratford!!!!
2-0, 3-1? I'd prefer a 5-0, 5-1 game. If we play like we have most of these games I can't see why not.
I understand what your saying but I think we can win the roma one and still get off to a flyer. I think Ramos can keep the team grounded and no let there heads get to carried away. Poyet can motivate the team and overall I think we have a good balance.
The only problems I can see at the moment is our lack of center backs and the berba specualtion. He needs to go if that is what he wants, the sooner the better or tottenham need to say he isnt for sale at any price and just move on, it needs resolving one way or the other. I do fear that his attitude and tantrums could really damage the teams moral early on in the season.
Did you actually digest my post at all? I dont want or expect us to lose but am willing to accept it if it means we have a better start to the season than in recent times. As for a Roma side who are not exactly great? Well I'm sure you will be calling us great if we finish runners up in the league and win the FA cup this season, which they did the equivalent of last season.
I still find it a rather strange statement for you to make that a defeat no matter in what type of game is ok to you!
Thats fine its your opinion after all, I beleive theres nothing better than going into the season bang on in form with wins under your belt but thats just my opinion eh.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
We are going to win so no worries ! I reckon 3-1 ! Lets have it!
The last two seasons have shown that may not be the case Yidno1 but, again, I stress that I hope this year it will be the case.
I have my ticket, block 40
We're All Going On A European Tour, AGAIN!
how much does a decent ticket run at WHL for a match just wondering as an American
