Wow. Only 45 min for Darren but he scores again with his only shot! Berba came on for second half and has been all smiles so far. Seems like he's enjoying himself.
I must be watching a different game this time. Maybe i just became bitter towards berba. Lovely football being played so far. I hope bentley is ok, just been taken off and had some problem with his ankle.

Yeah, when I posted he had just come on and all was jolly. However, Dortmund seem determined to beat up our players though and the Ref must have German blood cos he's just not punishing them. Dimi seems to have 3-4 players hurling themselves at him every time he touches the ball and hasn't looked so happy after he rolled his ankle within 5 min of coming on. I cannot believe the ref never gave that penalty for Bentley. I've never seen a more definite foul in the box. The only thing I can guess is the offender is only 18 and would surely have had to have been sent off being the last man preventing a clear goalscoring opportunity. Maybe the ref thought he'd cut him a break with Spurs 1 nil up in a preseason friendly. Who knows? So far tho, 3 yellow cards for dortmund & they should probably have had many more. Calm done lads.
Another positive, Gomes has looked very solid.
Modric is on the bench but Juande has said he doesn't mind too much about winning this game and more about providing each player an equal amount of time on the pitch this preseason. I wouldn't read into it. Nice to see Adam Smith get brought on though. Who says we don't generate our own?

Yeah BD are playing a bit hard for a "friendly". Gomes does indeed look really solid and its also encouraging to see we are still passing the ball good and closing the game. Something we always struggled with. I wouldnt be surprised to see another goal.

edit/ if berba had the heart that zakora plays with then he would be immense. One of the worlds best. Shame is a lazy bugger. If he stays ramos needs to handcuff him to a treadmill and get his fitness up. He is a fool because if he does want to move on playing with the attitude he is will get him nowhere.

One thing is fore sure, Berbatov is pure class.

Yeah no doubt, You need more then 'pure class' to be a succesful footballer though. He needs heart, this and the desire to win is something he misses.
I have to disagree with you nickGT. I think Berba certainly has the desire to win and its exactly that desire that has caused all this talk of him wanting away. He has heart too. Don't mistake his laidback style for lack of it, he would play that way wherever he is. I think he gets a bum wrap most of the time. He may have asked about leaving with MU knocking on the door burt we've not heard a peep out of him since and he looks the same to me as he always has. You know what you're getting with Berba, don't expect him to bust a gut or throw hmself round the pitch but give him the ball and he will take out 3-4 players with a simple pass.
Btw, since i'm cro I hope you understand this question...how Is Petric playing? :P

all i see is that we were better in the second half due to berbatov. his pass to bentley set him up for what was an obvious penalty, also dos santos should have scored on his right from a brilliant ball threaded through from berba aswell. hes still on our books stop hating him.
also to the jenas haters out there, two brilliant set-ups for our first two goals things are looking good at the moment!

Petric was one of the better Dortmund players but Dortmund looked poor. He fluffed 2 free-kicks & just wasn't clinical enough. I like Petric, I have many close, family friends in Zagreb and so I like to follow the national team (a bit of a Bad Blue Boy also) but I don't think he was as good tonight as he has been for Croatia.
Yep, I 100% agree with you. I thought every single player has been excellent this w/end and we should stop singling out individuals for unnecessary criticism. Concentrate on the positives, we are moving forwards.
yes berbatov is class no one can dispute that
but even the commentator commented on the fact that he does not play with passion for the team for man ure he will be immense for tottenham he is mediocre at best ..... the longer this goes on the less attractive he will look to potential buyers .
i am happy the way the team are performing we are on fire so much confidence and drive once we get the striking situation sorted out i think we will be in a great position

I dont mean to hate on him. I guess seeing players play without any passion pisses me off. He has so much talent but doesn't utilise it as well as he could.
