“With the greatest respect, I would be trusting Harry’s judgment,” said Bond. “The fans have their opinions, but we feel it was good business for us.
“I think the squad’s stronger now - obviously not in terms of numbers because we’ve let four go and only brought two in - but Harry felt that one or two of our players needed to be able to go out and play some football.
“It’s difficult to change a winning side. They understand that but they still get frustrated, because no matter how much players earn they still want to play.
“In the end I think Harry respected that and let them go out and play some football somewhere else. The other lads have come in and they’re ready to play their part if they can, so I think it’s been a good window for us.
“We’re pleased. We’ve freshened it up slightly, which I think is always helpful, and I think with a bit of luck it might give us a lift for the remaining games.”
Corluka’s exit has prompted concerns that Spurs no longer have cover at right-back – fears which were exacerbated when Kyle Walker suffered a groin strain against Wigan on Tuesday night, within hours of the Croatian departing.
However, Bond believes that the Lilywhites have plenty of players who can fill in at full-back if necessary.
“Obviously William Gallas has played at right-back,” he said. “Younes Kaboul can play there and Jake Livermore filled in at right-back for us the other day so we do have one or two options.”
Asked whether Kyle Naughton can be recalled from his season-long loan at Norwich if necessary, Bond replied: “I don’t believe so.”

It still does not explain to me why we signed saha, someone who is old enough to deserve being a bench player yet causing problems whenever he sits next to the manager.
Moved on Pav for money......brought in a cheap option on a short term deal. Lines ourselves up for a busy summer where we will sign 2 strikers.
Doesnt seem to be that kind of player and is already getting good reviews from our coaching staff about how sharp he looks in training.

I tell you why this window wasn't too bad for us , we have moved on 2 players who didn't want to be here for 2 players who do want to be here , and they know exactly what their respective places are and are happy to do it .
Job done .

Well if Saha stays positive following a streak of maybe 10 consecutive benched games and dont start talking instead of focusing on football, then I can agree with you guys. But his attitude in Everton was not very professional, we all know his discussions with Moyes after not being selected into first 11.
He may not do the same as he'll be a free agent in summer and has maybe some hopes of resigning with Spurs. In any case, I dont consider him as a team player.
In my opinion, Pav > Saha and Bassong > Nelsen. We showed too little ambition to try to challenge for the title. Not that I'm surprised with that but I won't consider us title challengers now. I'm only being realistic about our chances here. If anyone wants to flame for for it, so be it. I'm not gonna argue.
We've shipped out two players who didnt want to be here and brought in two players who do......that is a positive thing in its own right.
The last three January Windows we've been linked to top players. I think we can all assume we wont sign many top players in the winter window due to prices and the importance of the players we're after to their clubs.

A lot of players want to be here... like Crouch. But if they're not good enough, there's no point. I'm sure Heskey would love to join us if given the chance.
Given the time of Pav's sale which was on the last day of the window, there was no way we were going to sign our top targets (even 2 weeks before the window ended for example). We've brought in an experienced striker, good goal scorer when fit on a short term deal who would be doing exactly what Pav would be doing which is sitting on the bench and playing as our 3rd striker. We got 9 million plus add ons for a player at the age of 30 who was not rated by our manager.
We covered ourselves and did a great bit of business as well. Which sets us up for a huge summer with the space we have in our squad.

I just don't understand why we didn't sign Eto'o! He would have been the perfect replacement for Adebayor!
I will ask you not to pull the sarcasm card whenever i get you with FACTS..
Have to agree with Bondy - having fringe players out on loan, with their salaries being paid by another club, in effect allows us to give them free pitch time and gain experience whilst not being allowed to play against us (something I think favors the big clubs like us far to much) this is great business. Remember how it worked out for Walker.
Signing two proven EPL players, albeit at the end of their careers, who both have the 'carrot' of a possible contract extension to keep them focused is not only good but a masterstroke. There is no doubt both these lads can perform, maybe not over 90 mins twice a week but Saha's of the bench, or Nelsen to shore up the back four in a tight game, provide us with excellent options.
Like all of us I have views on where we are going ... 'Arry's future remains in doubt be that prison or the England job. Our participation in next years UCL is looking good but chickens and counting come to mind. We also have the new ground possibly just four years away ... it makes me smile just saying that .... with these variables it was totally unreasonable to expect large transfer spends in January
Looking ahead to the summer the 'Arry situation will be resolved one way or another, our participation in the UCL will be confirmed or not, the new ground may also be finalized. If all these things have gone in our favor then it would make sound business sense to spend money to ensure that we remain competitive upto 2016. The one thing we all know about Levy is that he's about as sound a businessman as you will ever meet .... good times ahead I am sure.
