My sister-in-law recently was a counselor at a summer camp at Bethany College here in the states. Two of her co-counselors were visiting students from Wales.
The camp ended a week early, and these two Welsh chicks have a week to waste until their flight leaves next week, so my wife and I were nice enough to invite them to stay since they really have no other place to go.
I don't know what part of Wales they are from, but maybe you guys could gimme some information on how I can nicely bust their chops if they are not Spurs fans. Say, for example, they are Cardiff fans. What kind of jokes or taunts can I tell them just to razz them a little bit or tease them about. Not looking for anything nasty, just want to make sure they know they are in Spurs territory while they are staying with us! Thanks in advance!
Come on you Spurs!

Cardiff City almost won the FC Cup, which would have meant they would have been in the UEFA Cup this year. They didn't win, but as we won the Carling Cup, we got a place and they didn't.
Depending on their sense of humour you can make sheep jokes. Some Welsh will laugh about it, some will find it extremely offensive, so use at your own risk. Its based on the fact in Wales, there wasn't/isn't a lot of people but there was sheep, so you can guest the rest. You sometimes see the Welsh rugby fans with inflatable sheep in the stands.
They do love their rugby, so that's one thing to tease them on. Another stereotype is that all Welsh can sing.
Things to avoid are Margret Thatcher and religion. There are a lot of coal mines in Wales that were closed, to which they blame Thatcher personally. The closure of the mines caused a lot of poverty, especially in the rural areas. So she's not too popular over there. Also they are fairly religious so best avoid that too.

Cardiff City..... what a bunch of muppets. Thank God they didn't win the FA Cup. Their lunatic fans could've caused no end of trouble! I remember going to Ninian Park season before last for the third round. An awful no-score-bore. Police kept us behind for twenty minutes or so afterwards to allow the City fans to disperse, which, naturally, they didn't. They then started fights with the police outside the ground in an effort to get us let out! Nutters. That was followed by a police escort for the whole away contingent back to the station.
Anyway, that aside, I can't really think of too much to give them stick about unless you actually know who they support. They may have no interest in football whatsoever! Post back when you find out and I'm sure we'll be able to assist.
Punky I have lived in Wales for 15 years and would say it is far from religious so where that preconception comes from I dont know. The sheep one is always good though. If they are from North Wales you can tell them they are just plastic scousers.
I don't know how you would tease them but we do have two great WElsh attacking fullbacks in Bale and Gunther

Thanks everyone.
I will keep you updated on what happens.
So far I have as good:
Sheep, plastic scousers, and carnal relations with sheep
Bad:
Religion, coal mining, and Margaret Thatcher.
I can understand the coal mining thing. The area I know live in was the Steel Valley, one of America's if not America's largest steel producing city for close to 60 years until the bottom fell out and all the mills shut down. Still a sore topic in this area.
Sheep? LoL I am going to have fun with this.
Ask them to do the Iotolah!!!
If they do it i guarentee you will either p!ss your self with laughter of call the men i white coates to take them away. If they look vageuly at you then they aint real Cardif footie fans.
Youtube it to find out more
