I am left guessing why most of Spurs' players fetch so little in the transfer market compared to 'rejects' from the other teams?
If Crouchie can fetch 11 million pounds, surely Robbo could do better than the measly 3.5 million? Alonso from Pool is going for 15 million although he has been 'rejected' by Pool. And we have more in our books, I don't think we will ever be able to sell Bent anywhere close to the figure we bought him for.
I think in the recent history, about the only player that fetched a handsome gain was Carrick . . . and I hope to not include Dimi in this category. Keano? I think the money would be useful!
Then recently Spurs adopted the policy of buying the best young players, but even they are leaving at prices that are nothing to shout about. So I suspect that there is something seriously wrong in the manner these dealings were transacted.
If the above is not true, then I reckon that the only other plausible explanation is that perhaps the players were not so good in the first place . . . and that us Spurs fans have all been taken for a ride with some of the purported 'good buys'.
Anyone can shed some light?
I thought Keane was going for around 18 million?
He means Robinson, not Keane. Robinson has gone to Blackburn for £3.5m
Keepers are always worth less than the outfield players. Don't know why when your keep is probably the 3rd most important player on the field after the captain/strikers. We bought Gomes for £8m which is staggeringly high for a keeper, but let's face it, we'll always throw cash at whatever player we want.
£3,5m is a bit on the low side, but its a gamble for them. He's lost all confidence. That's not something he can automatically regain, as we've waited 2 seasons ourselves. We've signed Gomes so Blackburn know we are desperate to offload him They weren't going to offer fortunes for him as they were in the stronger bargaining position. However if he regains his confidence, they've got a bargain.

I think blackburn got a good deal personally! Robbo loved the club and had a bad season and people jumped on the bandwaggon! in goalkeeping terms he is still young and compared to Friedal a snip!
I thought Robbo might have gone for a bit more but we still made £2m on him. Otherwise, Keane, Malbranque, Tainio, Chimbonda have all been sold for healthy amounts so I don't think we are selling em cheap.
As I pointed out elsewhere, Spurs have managed to completely balance the books this window despite bringing in over £40m worth of talent. That ain't bad.
so if you balance all of our ins and outs we haven't spent any money if so how big is our transfer budget?
I've no idea how big our budget is but you would've thought that we'd have had some money to spend to begin with, especially having won the CC.
30 million!!! Reportedly
Mate we are even on the ins and outs!!!
We havent dipped into our kitty yet, if we have its only spare change we have spent.
The chairman has done some great deals on the out bound players and got some decent bargains coming in.
We made proffit or broke even on almost half of the Sunderland squad!!!
From what i can recall we only made a loss of 2 mill on Kaboul!!! And thats it!!!
Unit's right. Also, we made more by selling Kaboul to Pompey than if he'd been included in the Sunderland deal so well done Spurs!
I think Ramos deciding to sell so many players just goes to show how mediocre the players we had under Jol. Don't know if it was Jol or Comolli, but I sure like the new players that has come in this season. Actually I don't mind if they come to Spurs mediocre, but the coach/manager turns him into a better player whilst he is at WHL.
Haha just like in management in the corporate world, if its a good thing, all will want to lay a claim to it. But if its a bad thing . . . Lets wait and see who says that Bent's purchase was their idea now that he has started scoring.
It was a Camoli buy 100%.
Dunno why we pay the man a salery to signt sh!t players.
I think if he undermines Rambo's authority he will get the boot. I would imagine Rambo said that he must have complete controll of the transfers without Camoli's beak in the way.
I htink we over paid on alot of players to begin with so the transfer fees we are receiving probably is the realistic price they are worth!
Robbo was about right at 3.5mil, hes a gamble tbh.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
its always hard to get big money for keeper he really went downhilll for the spurs think we had to move on sold on the cheap dont know ramos again was not afraid to make big descion wo
