Having never been to a game before because I live in the States, I was wondering what to expect the 26th at the Bolton game. I am bringing a group of teens with me, what is the atmosphere like in Section 58? I already know to tell them no Arsenal gear, but does anybody have any pointers?
The Paxton isn't the most vocal area, that is the Park Lane & a couple of blocks in the lower shelf (closest to the Park Lane). There will be quite a few children in the Paxton (it is the family stand afterall)
However, it is still as good as most other grounds.
The main club shop (megastore) is on the corner of Park Lane & the High road (easy to find) & there are several other smaller shops around the ground.
You can take food onto the stand & water/soft drinks but alcohol is not allowed (but it can be drunk in other parts of the stadium). Smoking is totally forbidden.
The toilet facilities are atrocious.
If you go into a pub around the ground (Bell & Hare for me usually) they may ask to see your tickets to prove you are a "home" fan. The pub will be packed (whatever one you go into!)
There are loads of cafe's & fast food places in & around the stadium.
Cool, it sounds like a great place to see a game and hang out. Is it easy to get to by train? We are staying at the Ibis. Thanks for the tips.

Actually, I reckon the bogs at The Lane are miles better than most other grounds I've been to - especially in the Paxton. Although having said that, I only ever go in the Paxton so have no idea about other facilities!Originally Posted by Old Yid
What the God damn hell am I doing commenting on the pissers at The Lane?! Must have words with myself.
Try the Park Lane upper mate - you will see my point of view!!Originally Posted by funster
