Good Morning All, the big day approaches.
Tomorrow sees us compete in the Carling Cup Final
with Chelsea at the "New" Wembley Stadium.
Sunday's 3pm start is a massive day for us, and
especially for Ramos in his first season.
Personally I believe it may be a step too far
against an incredibly strong Chelsea squad, but
will be more than happy to be proved wrong. For me
the first goal (if there is one!) is very important.
If we could take the lead, with them needing to chase
later, I feel we would have a chance. They strike
first, then it will be very tough.
The build up has not been ideal, and we need to find
a solid 90/120 minutes, something we have not done
      since the A****** Semi.
Team News for us, is Chimbonda may be available, after
twisting his knee on Thursday. Dawson has done some
light training. Boateng and Ledley trained on Friday.
Ramos has to decide between Cerny and Robbo, and also
whether to play Chimbonda at left back, if he goes
with Hutton on the right. In midfield it looks to be
Tainio, Zokora or Huddlestone, fighting for one spot.

Some speculation in the media this morning that
Lampard and Terry won't start, although Chelsea have
no fresh injury worries. Didier Drogba could have a
partner in Anelka from the Kick Off, would think it
more likely, he (Anelka)will start on the bench.

      Good Luck...

Its gonna be a toughie for sure!!! But I think we will sneak it.

If the are missing Lamps and Terry then very good news for us, as they are probably the two most influential players in their side. No Anelka too.......... We need early goals as you rightly said, before they bring on the big guns.

We have a lot more to gain from winning this than they do. Its our route into Europe next term, our chance of keeping Berbs and attracting top class players, and our first piece of silverware this decade!!!

They have alot more pressing matters such as the other 3 (higher profile) competitions they are currently in.

This sunday is effectively our last game of the season. We realisticly cant secure a european place via the league, and are destined for a dissapointing mid table finish.

I think our motivation has to be higher than theirs. And it should be, End of story.

I kind of agree with the sentiment, i.e. that we should be treating it as do or die tomorrow, but we're still in the UEFA Cup mate! OK, PSV are a bloody good side, and there are plenty of decent teams still left, but there's plenty still to play for after tomorrow. Admittedly, European qualification through the League is nigh on impossible, but I reckon we could still sneak up to seventh.

We've got to go in knowing we can win tomorrow. Got to. Just like we did against the Arsehole.

      Come on!

Point taken but this is one game from securing our future!!!

Maybe I should have said..........This sunday is effectively our last domestic game of the season..........

In Europe we have a bloody long way to go!!! Granted we wont face a challenge like chelsea on the way to the final but we will have to play a heap more games at a great deal more risk. This has got to be our best chance, by a long shot!

7th is a big ask mate, and then we are relying on others to win things so the PL get extra places. Our fate is in our hands on sunday!

I think Rammos will stick a rocket up their ars*s, and they will be fired up for this.

We win, and our season long rolercoaster will finsh nicely, if we loose we have another lap or two to do in europe before the ride finishes.

I think thats a smoke screen the Lampard/Terry thing, theyl both be in the starting eleven im sure of that.

The more i think this game over the more it worries me now, we have to be so ontop of our game like the scum game and more so with chelsea, for me this is THE game of the season for me anyway, the Uefa cup still contains some excellent sides in it, If we win tomorow but were to slip out of the Uefa then I guess id be cool with it.

I really hope they dont let us down like they did in cardiff against Blackburn!

Better not! That was a rubbish, rubbish performance. We never got going and weren't able to cope with Blackburn. Like you say, gotta be right on top our game tomorrow.

I had to put my money where my mouth is after all week bragging to the local Scum and West Ham Dingle supporters where i drink that we are gonna win 3-1 and that Keane will score first. Got odds of 33 to 1 on the score alone and 150 to 1 with Keane to score first and 3-1. God i hope we play better than Blackburn 2002 im sure Ramos will have them in the right frame of mind.
My stomach is doing cartwheels already cant wait.

Probably i silly point to discuss but as the final draws closer do any of you have any Pre match Superstitions? (apart from getting half plastered which i think most of us will to settle the nerves)

I have a match before so as long as I win that, with my lucky laces, we will win.
And I'm going to win, don't you worry :10:
