Clue me in as I'm a yank, I know Newcastle and Liverpool have beer tie-ins through their sponsors. I plan to watch the Chelski match at Brit's Pub in Minneapolis. Do we, as Spurs fans, tend to favor a specific brand of beer? If not, any recommendations from the Brit's Pub's beer list:
BASS
BODDINGTONS
FULLER'S E.S.B
FULLER'S LONDON PRIDE
TETLEY'S
NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE
OLDE SPECKLED HEN
HARP
TENNENT'S
GUINNESS
STRONGBOW
I like Guiness , Newcastle is kind of tolerable. Haven't had many of the others. Thanks in advance.

COYS!
STRONGBOW
I drink this! (or Scrumpy Jack/Olde English or something similar).
It isn't beer though! It is cider (fermented apple juice) & usually in the region of twice the alcoholic strength of normal beers. Not for the faint hearted :5:
As far as i am aware we don't have a specific Spurs beer these days although we used to be sponsored by Holsten.
Before the 6-4 Reading game i ran into a couple of German Spurs in the Bell & Hare that were trying Strongbow for the first time (why, i have no idea!). The look of disgust on their faces every time they took a gulp was a picture!
lol, give strongbow a go, you normally get it in a 2 litre bottle for a couple of quid ($5-6) it's the favoured drink of kids and students! It's hard to get a cheaper nights drinking without dropping down to White Lightning!!
I think the trick with most cider is to get the first few drinks in you nice and quick, saying that I stay away from the stuff!
I'd go for Harp or Tennents but I wouldn't be happy :5:
"It's no use just winning, we've got to win well."
I don't mind the strong stuff. A local brewer in town (a couple years back before all the hops crops went bad) did a double IPA that was near 14% which I liked. I'll give Strongbow a try come the 24th. Thanks for the suggestions. :1:
gotta be fullers London pride , speaks for its self
I'll be sure to order a Fuller's as well :1:Originally Posted by grimsby yidds
From that list, definitely Old Speckled Hen for me. I'd be quite happy picking that on any given day regardless.
Strangely, I've quite gotten into a bit of cider over the last year. However, don't touch Strongbow, or indeed any of those Irish, marketed to hell ciders that seem all the rage right now. Why, when we have the best apples in the world and some of the best brewing traditions, and a history of brewing cider in the West Country and Kent, would I want to drink an Irish cider?! With ice?!
half of strongbow plus half of tennants in the same glass with a dash of blackcurrant, its called a snakebite & it gives u legs like Elvis !!!! :1:
Turbo shandy!!!
Blow ya T*ts off!!!
Half a pint of Lager and a Smirnoff ice to top it off!!!
You will then be what us Brits call a CHAV!!! (google Michale carroll or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael...tery_winner%29)
Go out and buy yourself a nice burburry cap and a Sovereign ring.
Hahaha :32: - I googled all that stuff. I think the next time someone in our London office botches a job, I'll call 'em a Chav (although they do excellent work so I'll have to sit on this for a bit). They won't see that coming :6:Originally Posted by P UNIT 1980

This I've got to try. Hopefully English pubs in the States are familiar.Originally Posted by Off the Shelf
For those of you who like a drop of ale, try Wadworth 6X or Hobgoblin from the Wytchwood Brewary in Oxford. For the cider drinkers, my local ASDA stor sells a bottled cider called Old Rosie. It goes down smoothly, tastes wonderful and has one hell of a kick.
