From OS:
Andros Townsend has joined Championship club Ipwsich Town on a season-long loan.
The winger featured in all three games of our First Team's pre-season tour of the United States as well as our friendly at Benfica last week.
Andros has previously impressed during loan spells at League One sides Leyton Orient and MK Dons last season, building on his earlier experience on loan at Yeovil Town during the 2008/09 campaign.
Think that is a good move Ipswich play some decent stuff, should be interesting to see how he develops
rather we kept him and loaned jenas
Well, it's good in that, Townsend will get the experience he needs to develop PLUS we make room in our 25 man squad to bring in new players.
As Townsend is only 19, we wouldn't have to include him in our squad of 25 for the Premier League anyway - you can have as many players who are 21 or younger as you want.
But I agree that spending a season with the Tractor Boys will give him invaluable experience.
Poor was kinda hoping he's see some minutes for us this season. Couldn't have picked a better club to loan him to though after seeing GDS succeed there last year. Roy Keane is a legendary manager to play under.
Anyone see his sending off today? Kung fu esque straight into the Keeper, no bad intentions though from what i saw.
