Does anyone know the situation with Bentley I saw him getting on the team coach yesterday on crutches.

Ankle ligament damage according to SSN. He pick up a bad injury last year against Bournemouth as well. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play a very big part in our tur of the USA.

Hope hes back fit soon....

According to the NoTW - both Bentley and O Hara will be out for 6 weeks...ouch!!!

Real shame for Bently the guy was coming very good again towards the end of last season so i wish him a speedy recouvery and hope to have him back in the squad asap.
As for Jamie well im not fussed if he never wears a yid top again, shame hes crocked in a way as that means he prob wont get a transfer whilst injured now.

I like Bentley, he's very friendly and down to earth etc..

He was starting to look like the player he was, this better not stop him ..

There is 1 positive thing about his injury......with Lennon and the rest of the England WC players not coming to the states....we'll see one of the youngsters come into the team.

I've always like Bentley also.

Unfortunately, he was really awful for us for quite a long time which only gave all the haters ammunition. However, there should never have been any doubt that the guy is a very good footballer and that he would, eventually, prove that once again.

People seem to like to talk a lot of rubbish about him tho, like how Harry hates him - how can anyone possibly know that?

There is also this nonsense about Bentley's ego. He might have one, he might not but I certainly do not think it is up to people who have never even met the guy, let alone know him, to make such a judgement on him, especially in such a negative way. The only people who can criticise him for it are those who have to spend their time with him and, from what I've heard, Bentley is one of our more popular characters around the dressing room.

So what if he puts a bit of gel in his hair or likes to roll his shorts up? If that is the sort of thing we judge people on then there are many more c*nts in the game than just Bentley!

From what I've heard from people who have actually met him, he is actually quite down to earth and always takes the time to talk with people and very much sees himself as just an average bloke. He's a real joker too, & everyone likes a person with a sense of humour. Bentley is always at the centre of any antics going on at the Lodge & you want that sort of thing going on at a club - you want people to enjoy coming into training. Perhaps in the past he has not always got the balance right, but I think he has that sorted now.

Hope he recovers quickly, we're really going to need him firing on all cylinders this season.

Bentley is out for 6 weeks so hopefully in time for CL qualifiers...

I really like Bentley and agree with everything Basskadet had to say above which is not usual of me. Bentley is a great player and definately should stay at Spurs.

Last season he made:

Apps: 16
Goals: 4
Assists: 6

This is a pretty good return considering this was mostly towards the end of the season when Aaron Lennon was injured. I for one would give him a good run out this season.

Bass is spot on and another thing for the haters if it wasn't for Bentley's efforts after Lennon got injured we wouldn't be in the CL qualifiers. Yes he took time to get going but his work at the turn of the year helped us immeasurably
