      IN:
      Gunter(Cardiff)
      Woodgate('Boro)
      Hutton(Rangers)
      Gilberto(Hertha)
      OUT:
      Defoe(Portsmouth)
      Gardner(Everton, loan)
      Stalteri(Fulham, loan)
      Routledge(Villa)
      Barnard(Southend)
      Ifil(Colchester)
      Alnwick(Leicester, loan)

      I.M.O:
We leave the transfer window stronger than when we entered it. I hate seeing Defoe leave, I think the Hutton cash could've been better spent elsewhere and one can only hope Woodgate is over his fitness problems, but 'spose you can't argue that we've got in some damn good players to hopefully help shore up our defense.

I also think it was time for Gardner, Stalteri and Routledge to leave, even it the first two are only on loan. Hard to see them playing at all, and to a certain extent I was never too impressed by Stalteri or Routledge (only good thing that comes to mind was Stalteri's winner V West Ham last year).

Sortof disappointed Barnard and Ifil are gone - I'd at least thought Ifil was a prospect (though this was a couuple years ago now that I think about it, when he started the first game V Liverpool).

      SO...what do you say?

G'day DasAlterEgo & fellow Spurs fans.

Besides the Defoe deal, i think we did pretty well during the January t/fer window.

I honestly think Defoe is a class act and we should have held on to him.

It will be interesting if Berba decides to move on in the summer which will leave us with only 2 recognised strikers Bent and Keane.
Let's all hope that doesn't happen.

From what I’ve seen of Hutton in the SPL & Euro Qualifiers, he's a good defender and will add a lot to our line up.

All in all. hope all of the arrivals have a positive impact!

      Howdy mate,

Berba won't go anywhere. He just won't. I'll fly over to England and handcuff the bloke to White Hart Lane :6:
We'll only be able to play him for home games then, and it might be a little awkward, but be better than having him play against us.

I've only heard good things about Hutton, but I've seen Gilberto a few times and he's class. Him and Bale down the left, Hutton and Lennon down the right (or Chimmy, though with all the talk I dunno where his head's at), looks nice for the flanks. We'll need better left-side back-up come the summer, but it's good.

Berba will be off in the summer that's a fact.
Defoe and stalteri i will miss, stalteri with less quality than defoe but still worked hard for us.
The others, well good luck but wont be missed by me lol

Where is this "fact" you speak of?

Honestly, I think it's a whole load of tabloid bull****.

I'm a bit concerned that we have concentrated in the area that needs sorting the defence, but now left ourselves light up front what happens now if breba or keane get injured bent is out so effectivley we have two fit strikers its absoulutely crazy the club is a joke in my eyes we will never pose a threat to any of the top four clubs with the way we sell and buy players no matter who manages us the trend with transfers seems to be the same

      Really? support someone else then.

Personally, i think we have done good business. Everyone knows were were weak at the back. Hopefully Ramos has gone some way to rectifying that situation.

The only loss is Defoe & her was going to leave on a Bosman in 18 months time (Sol Campbell deja Vu) so best to get some cash for him now while he still has value.

When Bent is fully fit i don't think Defoe will be missed that much - Bent can fill his seat on the subs bench perfectly adequately.

why would i support some one else i'm expressing my dissapointment at leaving ourselves short up front thats all where is the good business in that?WHEN will bent be fit? thats just my opinion look at most of the other teams that do well on a regular basis there squads are strong even on the bench thats were we are different if its true what reports say gilberto failed a medical......if he's not 100% fit why sign him,we already have enough players who are either injured or prone to injury we need some consistency in the side

lads look at what we've got in.....exactly what we needed. we've had a good run of results before this window and - fingers crossed - the new guys should improve on this even more. i agree that we were right to take the cash for defoe - if you look at this squad now - it's top end and it can only get better in the summer.
let's get right behind this squad and managers and hope for some great european results and a cup final to remember... i'm excited we're going the right way!!!!!!!!!

Right, settle down you 2, play nice! There's no need to be insulting people.

      Here's my 2cents

Good transfer window, shored up the defense which, in fairness, has cost us more points than any other area this year.

Many people complained that 4 top strikers was too much, now people will complain that we are short with only 3. Thats the way it is, people will complain. He would be away on a free so we had to sell.

If Berb leaves in the summer or havin only 3 strikers causes problems I have no doubt we will buy more then. You cannot keep players like Defo on the bench forever, you need lesser players to back up the 1st team.

The reason Utd etc can keep high quality players on the bench is that they are winning things. Arguably we can't win things until we have high quality subs so we're stuck in a tricky situation until we are winning cups or finishing top4. We need to strike a balance where we have quality subs who are happy not to play all the time.

No more insulting people or I'll have to do something. You called the club a joke, that annoys a lot of supporters so Old Yid expressed his opinion that maybe you'd be happier elsewhere, you didn't like it, no need for insults. he didn't tell you to f**k off or anything...
