Evening,
I'm a swede coming over to England in March to watch a couple of football games along with my two brothers. As one of them is a Tottenham fan, one game we thought we'd try and get to is the Spurs-Newcastle encounter at White Hart Lane on the 30th of March, and as such I'm looking into options of getting tickets.
Now, it seems most league games are sell-outs or near enough, and getting on your official site's ticket service gives the impression that chances of getting tickets from there without being a member are quite rather slim. That is, at the very least when there's remotely attractive opposition and I suppose Newcastle are still that (even though they're dogwank). That leaves, as far as I know, two main routes to try which are 1) signing up for memberships, and 2) buying from a middleman.
As some quick googling indicates the latter could become inordinately expensive, I'm a bit curious about the membership option and that's basically what I wanted to ask about. How are the chances of getting game tickets during that week before they go on general sale? Is it a matter of having to buy within minutes or they're out, or is it reasonable to assume that we can get tickets that way as long as we don't leave it extremely late? The Lilywhite scheme memberships aren't priced worse than that it still makes a relatively affordable option and we don't mind paying that extra bit, but it'd be a bit of a bummer if we were to go join up and still not get tickets that way but have to look further and spend even more.
Aside from that, if anyone has any other general advice for a pack of swedish first time visitors to your place, on other possible ways of getting tickets or about anything else, we'd be most grateful.
Cheers, thanks in advance and have a happy transfer window. :2:
The Spurs V Newcastle tickets go on sale to members on 18th Feb & for guests on 28th Feb (Game on 30th Mar).
I would say that if you became Lillywhite members the chances of you getting tickets (assuming you log on at 9.30am on the day thay go on sale) is extremely high. I have been able to get all the tickets i want this season in this way & for far bigger games than Newcastle.
You may have to buy the more expensive seats to get three tickets together (mid £40's to low £50's probably).
It also depends on the two teams league positions - if it a "nothing" game you may be able to get tickets as guests.
im still a little confused as to how you can get tickets for someone else if only one of you is a lillywhite member? do you both have to be members? or are the certain times you can but guest tickets? me and my missus are not both member so it doesnt matter, but say i wanted to take a friend with us.....
Give a man a fire, he'll be warm for a night, set a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life!
Exactly, after the Lillywhite/Bronze ticket buying window they have one day where members can buy guest tickets before they go on general sale.
Thanks for the replies, looks like we're signing up as Lillywhite members then. I suppose we could get by on just two memberships and buy the third ticket as a guest, but it doesn't quite seem worth taking the chance that they might run out. Guess we'll see what seats are available but if we have to get the slightly more expensive ones I think we can live with that as a one-off.
If there are alternatives, what's a reasonable place to sit? At a guess, is the south stand where the main home support is?
Its certainly where the most vocal home support is. The away team has their allocation in the south-east corner. All other stands are supposed to be for Spurs supporters only.Originally Posted by Fenris
If you can, definitely sit in the south stand (Park Lane).
If you want to be close to the away support try & get upper stand block 45 (you will probably see me there!)
Cheers, south stand sounds good if we can manage three together there, always nice to be where the atmosphere is. Mind it'll probably be down to the spurs fan brother, it'll be chiefly his moment of nirvana anyhow.![]()
