Was slated in this mornings papers after Saturday. i wasnt at the Bridge, but from watching the Low-lights i thought it was a little harsh.
Interested to hear your thoughts...
Like I said in the match report, the rags are talking cobblers. No way Cerny, or, in my opinion, any other keeper could've got anywhere near that. The problem was the lack of effort to close down in midfield. Particularly from Boateng who just backed off into empty space!
Yeah just seen that Chelsea 30 yarder again and ffs how much space we going to give teams to line up a shot.
Cerny wasnt to blame it was the pathetic reactions or non reactions in midfeld that let us down.
I do however think Cerny isnt the answer to our Keeper problems either.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
I couldn't get a channel on Sopcast so only saw the very limited highlights but I thought he seemed to have a decent game. No way he could be blamed for their first. You'd think the midfield would learn from their mistakes, not closing players down, apparently not.
I don't normally pay much attantion to whats written in the press, especially after the way we've been constantly targeted this season be it regarding Jol, Ramos, Berbatov or Defoe. I thought this was an intersting article in the observer though;

It seems Robbo's days are well and truly numbered. What do you make regarding the bit about Commolli and the England/ Croatia game? If thats true then its disgraceful.
I'm not sure how true that is, but what I am sure of is that the people running the show at the Lane have very little integrity. I would not fancy working for them.
Sadly, I know only too well that Spurs are not the only club run by unscrupulous fools. This season, more than most i have become dispondant with the Premiership in general, and have been tempted to spend my time watching Enfield Town instead, where football is played by real men, and the club is run by real fans.
The board are sucking the passion out of me....
But back to the point of goalkeepers.... I too thought Cerny looked solid, as he always has when he has stepped in. he is a more than able deputy, although not a top 6 or top 4 goalkeeper.
Stekelenburg would be a fine signing, untill he makes a mistake (which is inevitable) and the media ruin him. Although he might escape the media's wrath as he is not ENglish, making him less of a target.
I am curious as to why I have seen Cech, Reina and Van Der Sar over the past couple of season make more than their fair share of mistakes, include a couple of real howlers this season, yet these tend to slip by the attention of the media.
Its a good point regarding foreign keepers. We must have someone lined up if there is any truth in that article. I just think its sad that someone who, despite his overly publicised mistakes this season, has been a great servant to the club for the last 5 years could be treated like that. I think its time to move on and look at different keepers. But there are ways and means of doing things that the people in charge at the club dont seem to understand, or more likely just dont care.
premirshiptoday.co.uk has an article on their front page stating that Robo has officially requested a transfer!!!
To be honnest if he thinks he is above playing for his place then he can "DO ONE". I think JD is a hero for wanting to fight for his place and this is the type of player we need at our club. Ones that will put their pampered ar*es on the line week in week out!!! Like Keano and Steed!!!
Like i siad before, its good to see Rammos not taking any of the sh*t and average performances that we at White Hart Lane have been watching for the whole of this and the end of last season.
Let the cull commence!!!
