This is what some of us fans voted for on the Website...

WHAT HAS BEEN OUR BEST STRIKE PARTNERSHIP THIS SEASON?
      Defoe & Keane 8%

      Keane & Crouch 1%

      Gudjohnsen & Defoe 2%

      Crouch & Gudjohnsen 1%

      Defoe & Crouch 29%

      Pavlyuchenko & Defoe 57%

      Pavlyuchenko & Crouch 2%

      Other 0%

Pav and Defoe clear favourites, I'll have to admit, I voted for them too. They have a little bit of Magic that happens.. Some of their One touch passing is nice.. But seeing as I'm going offline now. I'm going to let YOU all decide..

      Tell me Who, and Why.

      I'll check these tomorrow evening

      Thank's Lad's

EDIT: Also don't be fooled by some of these Stats, Alot of people might have just jumped on the Pav bandwagon.. (Which was run by Me and Spurs2Rise but Shhhhh)

Unless i am missing something huge, the Pav Defoe partnership is pretty non existant, they both seem to drift around not linking up alot of the time. Sure there are exceptions, but it doesnt seem that effective to me. On merit they are probably our best two strikers. But i think Defoe and Crouch link up better.

Would have voted Defoe and Crouch.

we have many quality strikers but the problem is that not even through the whole season were we able to make a real partnership, so that we always know who is first choice and so that the two of them can build a strong bond. always mixing it and trying new combos so i don't really know how to answer this

I honestly believe Keane and Defoe is our best partnership, Yes Keane doesnt score much anymore, but Defoe got something like 80% of his goals this season with Keane and Defoe is our top striker. I just feel Keane's pace and link up play creates space for Defoe to unleash his pace into and to smash home.

I have been disappointed with all our strikers in the past few weeks especially JD who"s form has fallen dramatically.
Defoe has scored goals but hasnt developed his game enough to work in a partnership and is very hard to play with, Crouch is Crouch an untypical type of player who again is not easy to link up with .
As for partnerships I would say Pav and Eidur would link up best because they are touch players, but none of them will link as well as Berby and Keane did .

      Defoe and Crouch.

Defoe benefits best from a partner with strong hold up play. Crouch has this, Pav does not. In fact, Pav is quite poor holding the ball up.

Additionally Pav can go missing for large portions of the game. Crouch rarely does.

I just think the two of them work better togther. Pav might very well be the best striker we have, but it all depends on the partnership as a whole.

Yeah, what i've noticed alot about Pav is, he tends to run away from the ball instead of going looking for that pass, he doesnt help he runs away. He left bale stuck with 3 City players on him once on Wed, Apart from that he's done pretty well.

If you ask me, the Crouch/Pav combo isn't that bad and they have rarely not scored when together. If you ask me it should be Pav and Crouch against Burnley.

Also to whoever said that Defoe scored most of his goals with Keane. Don't forget that alot of defoe's goals have been from his 3 Hatricks (including his 5) so that's 11 goals out of 24 .. His form has dropped extremely low.. That's why I don't want him to start at Burnley, give Pav and Crouch a chance to flourish.

      defoe and keane

we played some nice, on the carpet high tempo football at the start of the season which was great entertainment with a lot of goals, particularly for defoe when those two played up front together, although it didn't bring the best outta keane it was beneficial for defoe and it tells when JD hasn't got as many goals once keane went up to celtic

in mid season when defoe and crouch played together it was long ball after long ball and it didn't work, it told its own story on the pitch

with defoe and pavlyuchenko it hasn't really made a spark out of either of them if we are honest, we have relied on the brilliance of bale and sheer hard defensive grit to see us over the finishing line in the past 2 months

Defoe and Crouch. Pav is so lazy sometimes it's kinda annoying and against Bolton everytime he touched the ball we lost possesion, Gudjohnson is a good player but abit too casual, that shot against Bolton wow... way too casual he should of just smashed it in the net and Keane is past it tbh.

Anti Pav bangwagon leaving now lad's

It's showed sooo much this season.. But alot of people have forgotten that over the past few games because

      1) Pav & Defoe hasn't worked for 5 Games
      2) Crouch Scored
      3) We havn't even needed strikers with the likes of Baler , Hudd etc

Crouch + A N Other for the moment. With the midfield we have we need a striker who can hold the ball up and another who can get on the end of passes/crosses.

Would rather play Dzeko as a loan striker for UCL games and away from home, and then play Defoe + Whoever in a 442 at home.

      Gomes
Corluka Dawson King Bae( or a replacement)
      Lennon Hudd wilson Modric Bale
      Dzeko

i like crouch and pav, they seem to link up well,ok they wont get behind many teams or run many defenders but they seem very aware of each others postions.defoe has hit a dip in form at the wrong time with even arry having a dig at his form.
