I think he has done an excellent job at rb and we should keep him as our first choice, I know this is harsh on Charlie but to be fair to them both they are top quality and we should keep them both, also harry I read about you wanting to give keane, ohara and Hutton a future here, DONT!
Hutton does not deserve to play for us, ohara turned his back on us and keane is way past it too play for us and lost his love for the club when he went to Liverpool.
I say sell them and buy in some better players and I'm sure everyone would agree with me.
But yeah back on topic kaboul I said a few weeks back that you could not cope with man u's attack and I was wrong mate, I wish we would of played you because u showed against city and Bolton that you are top class.
And I know you read these forums harry I had a chance to watch your interview about the 4-5-1 thing now and along with a few other bits and bobs u have said through the season u have made it obvious lol.
Good job mate harry your a true yid and I'm proud to have you as our manager and I think we will crack the CL wide open next season.
Now let's get that 3rd place![]()

You'd be wrong then mate
Still, good post and I agree; Kaboul's been outstanding the last couple of games, and I figure he's easily as good a RB as Charlie is. Only "but" is that neither is particularly good at going forward (I know YK got half an assist yesterday, but I stand by my opinion). Great to have them both though, versatile defenders who could both play as RB, CB and DM in a 5-man midfield, I'm so happy to see YK doing what he should've done the first time around.
EDIT: And Hell yes, 3rd place up for grabs, COYS!
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
HeroesComesandGoes (06-05-2010)
I do. In fact my home town team is in that exact position now with three games left to play, and though it hurts like a son-of-a-b**** I still love to see them play
Still, my argument was mainly about YK and Charlie's versatility, I believe they can both play a holding midfield role ... though better in a 5-man midfield than a 4-man.

Not necessarily mate as i've said in other threads we played 4-5-1 in 87 and Clive Allen bagged 49 goals. It's all about how you set up the 5. That said 4-4-2 works for us and Harry will set the team up in whatever way is needed at the time whether it's 3 up front or 5 in the middle. He's worked miracles in 18 months so I'm sure as hell not gonna pee on his parade.
He aint a RB.
He is a squad player who is good at most of the defensive and midfield positions.
We need real quality now and he isnt up there. As a squad player yes but not first choice.
Kaboul has done very well and i think his contribution is of special mention.
A great squad player.
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
Agree with Unit. The biggest question for me about Kaboul is whether he is willing to be a RB. I remember several reports that suggested after his first stint there that he really did not prefer the position. Luckily, though, he sacrificed his wants for the team and ended up playing pretty well. He has a lot of value because he can cover so many positions, a very good utility player. For me though, he still isn't quite CL quality. However, I still think he has tons of room to get better and under Harry I think he will. Might have to bring in another RB or bank on Naugthon, which is a risk.
<------ Arsene Wenger
We were one of the first teams in England to play a 451 & were considered England's most European side because of it - From 1985-87, under David Pleat, we regularly played with a 451, with either Clive Allen or Nico 'Classy' Claesen up top on their own, but we were never negative!
(anyone guess the tune to that one? clue: think very old, kiddies TV shows)"We want Younes, Younes Kaboul
He's a Yiddo, playing football,
We want Younes, everybody sing!
We want Younes Kaboul!

Gonna have to disagree with you for the first time ever Justin mate.
It totally depends on how you utilize the players within that 5 man midfield.
Look at this for instance:
........Sandro.........Palacios.......
Lennon........Modric............Bale
2 holding Defensive Mids with 3 Attacking Midfielders.
This coupled with a good lone striker (Milevskyi/Dzeko) then you have the makings of an attacking 4-5-1 formation.
It can be used as an ultra defensive option when closing games out too by dropping Modric for Huddlestone and have 3 Def Mids sitting and containing play whilst the wingers run the clock down and play on the break.
.....Sandro.....Hudd.......Palacios....
Lennon.................................Bale
Its a very interesting formation that almost all the big clubs use in the CL.
Harry would be a fool not to consider this approach.
4-4-2 does not favour too well against the might of Europes Elite Clubs mate.
"There's a fine line between madness and genius - God removed that line and replaced it with Gazza"
Firstly i dont want a 5 man midfield were not Italian FFS thats not how we play and thats not haow we will progress!
As for Kaboul he was awesome last night at right back but i dont see him being comfortable there every week so Charlie has to get the nod again.
Kaboul is best at Centre back and is turning into a very decent squad player imo
YK has proved me wrong... i was amazed and full of dread when i saw him coming into the team... but he has played the best football of his life against the biggest team.
Take a bow son.
He had a bad start we all know, but that's expected as he's just back. The man did impress me, he has a great attitude and is very aggressive. He's a player than really can make their flank feel the heat. We just need to know who he plays better with Bentley or Lennon.
Also on the topic of O'Hara Keane and Hutton
O'Hara : Well for me, He wasn't going to get much Fussball here so give the lad a break, I think he'll still be loyal, but I wouldn't mind selling him.
Hutton : Moooooving on...
Keane : He can stay, He's far past it, the only attribute he has now is his Leadership..
Obviously that's just a quick think on them.. I could go into more Depth but I have to go now :/ Laters lads
