I woke up today feeling extremely negative and I have been tinking about what could happen between now and next season....

I mean if we dont get champions league football do we really believe we are going to keep players like lennon? bale? modric? palacios?

Maybe im overeacting but if these players have a good world cup then even moreso top clubs will be after them and who wants to play for a club side who dont make CL?

which brings me to my next point, if we dont get champions league this year what chance do you think we have of getting it next year?

Man city will strengthen as will arsenal and liverpool and even man u, do you think levy will pull out his chequebook to make some massive signings that we desperatley need? and even if he does will players come to us knowing they could goto man city etc etc?

We have to take it THIS year if we dont then im afraid next season could be a massive dissapointment and it could be a while before we get to where we are now again.

I dont want to be a europa league side, people say "its a trophey" but when we have been in pole position all season to be in the the CL and throw it away at the last moment its not good enough!

      **** im pissed off grrrr

I know its not over yet so save me the inspirational talk because our chances of pulling off wins against the scum the chavs and manure are very very small, and believe me when i say this, if we lose to the scum you can forget CL in my opinion.

what a of a season this has turned out to be all that hard work a spot in a tournament that wlll give us more injurys than it will help us.

Agree with Funkfish but i also see where your coming from Justin.

Lennon will have many suitors after the WC and you can bet your arm Fergie will want Bale and Modric with his seasonal "Raping" of Spurs. It all pins on the summer window for me. Levy and Arry really need to get some serious quality to go with our already great players like Lennon and Modders.

We need another CB, RB, LB, CM and 2 strikers to be serious contenders next season.

Would love to see us try to get - Shawcross or Sakho at CB, Darjo Srna at RB, Taye Taiwo at LB, Joao Moutinho at CM and Edin Dzeko and Mauro Zarate up front.

This is the sort of quality signings we need to get CL footy and stay there. Unfortunately its always somewhat of a pipe dream.

mate ffs, how can u say its been a good seaon when we have been in 4th all season long and then we bottle it at the last minute lose to terrible teams like wolves TWICE in once season, throw a fkin semi final away to a relegated team and show again that we dont have the balls to deal with the pressure?

if we beat arsenal, chelsea and man u i will take back EVERYTHING i have said but this season has been a failure, who gives a shit where we was last season? who cares if we have been top 6 all year? a good season consists of two things in the premier league 1.winning a trophy 2.getting CL football.

So basically going by your logic you would be happy if we did this every year for the rest of you life as a spur supporter? just throw shit away at the last minute?

its not a good season this season should and will be considered a complete failure i will tell you why because this time we have no FKIN EXCUSE! it has been in our hands and we have pissed it all away so far.

I have supported tottenham since i could breathe and it has always been the same and i tell you something this year i truly believed it was different but once again i will have to face the ridicule of ****in scum supporters and every other c*nt pundit saying we always let people down.

and the worst part about it? its fkin true!

I will support tottenham till i die and i honestly hope we win every game from now until the end of the season, but dont kid yourself into thinking we had a good season just because of where we were last season and because we have been in the "top 6" all season.

Liverpool have been in the top 6 all season too, and guess what? there season is a complete failure what makes us any different?

I will tell you what is that WE have the talent and WE have had the advantage to taking fourth and once again WE can not deal with the pressure of it.

all of our players need to grow a pair and fkin seal the deal for once.

      in my opinion

I mean if we dont get champions league football do we really believe we are going to keep players like lennon? bale? modric? palacios?

Can't guarantee it - if a good offer comes begging - we may sell. I think those players listed are loyal. Modric are close friends with Corluka and Kranjcar so why unsettle himself with a move?

Maybe im overeacting but if these players have a good world cup then even moreso top clubs will be after them and who wants to play for a club side who dont make CL?

Out of the players listed, only Lennon and Palacios stand a chance of playing in the World Cup. Palacios plays for Honduras who are unlikely to go far. May we lose Lennon? it'll be silly to turn down a £30 mil. bid when we have Bentley waiting in the wings...

which brings me to my next point, if we dont get champions league this year what chance do you think we have of getting it next year?

It's about moving in the right direction which this season is. Last season we could have gotten relegated.

Man city will strengthen as will arsenal and liverpool and even man u, do you think levy will pull out his chequebook to make some massive signings that we desperatley need? and even if he does will players come to us knowing they could goto man city etc etc?

Yes - he knows that he must. We may not sign the likes of David Villa but we may end up signing players with potential eg Sandro.

We have to take it THIS year if we dont then im afraid next season could be a massive dissapointment and it could be a while before we get to where we are now again.

Cheer up - this season ain't over yet. And it shouldn't just because of an FA Cup defeat.

I dont want to be a europa league side, people say "its a trophey" but when we have been in pole position all season to be in the the CL and throw it away at the last moment its not good enough!

It's a way of attracting players and is a stepping stone to CL.

      Cheer-up

Really? When was the last time we spent a week being number 1 in the league? Way back in Glenn Hoddle's days as a manager. It's been a good season, but could be better. A semi-final appearance in an FA Cup match for the first time in 18 years is an achievement IMHO...

      Come on you Spurs...

Mate - having known you from this forum - you're mister positive - that's what's baffling me at the moment. OK, we lost against a relegated team yesterday but we still got the league to focus on. Let's wait 'til Thursday AM - hopefully Wednesday's result would snap you out of it.

I know mate, but its just all season we have looked really good, like we have had some slip ups but I always believed we would bounce back but now its like I dunno i can sense something different about us... we really needed to beat sunderland and pompey because it would give us the faith going into the scum, chav and manure game and we just rolled over at sunderland I just dont understand why we did?

I really hope that wednesday we beat the scum and a big part of me believes we can do it, I know we have the talent its just do we have the mental strength?

For the record I tried singing yesterday at wembley and none of us seemed up for it, everyone was so quiet was very surreal and very wierd never really felt a atmosphere like it, maybe its that whats making me feel so negative..

I am staying positive and I do believe we can do this so lets go and give the scummers the game of there life and show em what TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR IS ALL ABOUT!

      COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been an odd season this year and all top-six teams have had their blips. Sadly we've had too many. But maybe Man City with have theirs too.

I really hope that wednesday we beat the scum and a big part of me believes we can do it, I know we have the talent its just do we have the mental strength?

The players know that they let the fans down and will do their best to make up for it. First goal this Wednesday will give them the self-belief again.

For the record I tried singing yesterday at wembley and none of us seemed up for it, everyone was so quiet was very surreal and very wierd never really felt a atmosphere like it, maybe its that whats making me feel so negative..

The people we sat with at WHL are different to the people we're sat to at Wembley. So it wouldn't have been easy to get things going. Fans in the upper tier were singing one song and the fans in the lower a different one.

I am staying positive and I do believe we can do this so lets go and give the scummers the game of there life and show em what TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR IS ALL ABOUT!

what a of a season this has turned out to be all that hard work a spot in a tournament that wlll give us more injurys than it will help us.

Just my thoughts on these points:
      1) Yes, I don't see why not. Liverpool have to worry about losing world class players like Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano, and while Modders, Lennon and Bale (for instance) have heaps of potential, I reckon they're not quite up there individually. Why should they seriously consider turning away from regular first team action in a club like ours, that's really beginning to show something for the first time in years ('cept for a CC title of course), in favour of much greater competition for their places at the really large (I mean blatantly rich and obscene about it) clubs? For the money perhaps, but then again if that's the case good riddance.

      2) Again, I don't see why not, largely for the above reasons. Maybe not the Drogbas, Adebayors or Villas of this world. For now. But then again, Barca's display against Real the other day shows precisely how far you can get with relatively moderate signings and a number of home grown or at least long serving players, even against spenders like Real, Shitty or Chavski. Sure would be nice to see that huge name in the starting lineup, but it's not a guaranteed success anyway (Huntelaar, Benzema, v.d.Vaart, Ronaldinho and so on and so forth), it'll all depend on the team in the end.

      3) I do, it is a trophy and in my opinion we haven't been in pole position for a CL spot anyway. Simply because, except for one week's time or so, one or more of the other teams have had at least one or two matches on us, for most of the season the CL spot has been (potentially) on loan. It sucks having lost it, and I agree it's unlikely we'll get it back (although NOT impossible!), but in my view we never really had it.

      4) Not trying to p!ss you off here, but I can't believe you're serious (even though I know you are). So many things are going right, and we're having the best season since Jol's time around and I don't know for how long before that. It takes time to build a team, not to mention a winning team, and though I never believed that Harry was a top flight manager it is just going to take time and consistency, both regarding players and the boss. And he's doing way better than I, for one, expected. This season has been better than I'd hoped, and still has potential to be very good indeed.

      That's all from here.
