When did we get so predictable?

Our attacking play went a little something like this today;
-Get ball to the flanks
- Fire ball into box
- Watch Pompey clear it
- Repeat x100

We're meant to be a team who play football yet nothing came down the middle. Where was £16m Luka Modric? Why did he not control the tempo for us? He's a player who can unlock defences yet he did nothing today against a poor side.

How about Huddlestone? Why did he not try some balls into the box? Or even Palacios? Oh no wait, I forgot, we signed a central midfielder who is incapable of passing the ball.

Absoloute shambles.

Have to agree with that. Do we teach passing the ball and trying to play good football anymore? Crouch was a terrible, terrible signing. I really hate him.

We went through the middle plenty of times but that is where they parked their bus. There is only one point you make I kind of agree with - Wilson needs to be told to get rid of the ball as quickly as possible as soon as he gets it. Makelele did it for years and it did him good. There were plenty of times WP thought he could do something on the ball with Luka right next to him. Opportunities wasted. Harry needs to have a wee chat with the man.
Hudd is still not in full game shape, like half our team, so stop putting them down and get behind them.
They are in as much pain as we are.

We apparently got predictable in the 80's however I cannot confirm this as I wasnt alive then.

We also became predictable this century when everytime we look capable of doing something special I players lose their bottle. Infuriates me seeing a team that CAN do something simply NOT do it.Also doesn't help when referees became predictable in as much as anytime they see a person with a cockrel on a shirt they find an uncanny ability to never give them a fair decision and to royally fk them over when they follow the rules of the game

If you want to look at the fact that those are 3 teams that when we have a "nothing" season we beat easily yet when it matters we can't,then yes we are.
