There's a lot of hurting going on here, at the moment. But, trust me, no-one will be hurting more than our players and our manager.

They went into this game, with the whole football world saying that they couldn't lose. And the unthinkable happened! In front of a national TV audience! Ugh!

If WE think we're feeling bad, THEY must be feeling absolutely sh*tty right now. They failed to perform on the big stage. They will be embarrassed and heartbroken. Their professional pride has been severely dented. Many of them will probably be in physical pain, after playing 120 minutes and, in several cases, not being completely fit. One of them sounds like he might have picked up a season-ending injury.

Yes, I know that these guys earn more money than we can ever dream of. And that many people here paid out their hard-earned cash to buy a ticket to watch this debacle. But, while we're all grieving, let's try and keep a bit of perspective.

Harry thought he'd picked his best team. He believed he'd done his job, to the best of his ability. The starting eleven which (before the game) people were saying was the strongest we've put out in weeks, didn't deliberately go out to have a bad game. The substitutes came on, believing that they could make a difference to the game. Unfortunately, nothing turned out right.

You can blame the pitch, the referee, the injury doubts surrounding some players. You can blame the position of the moon, the alignment of the stars, the time of the month! You can blame me for having my pre-match bath half an hour later than usual. At the end of the day, it just wasn't to be.

I can't tell you how crap I feel, right now. And I absolutely can't imagine how Daws, Hudd, Charlie and especially the injured Niko must be feeling.

Give them a break. They're OURS. And we should get behind them. They need us now, more than ever.

      COYS!!!!

We will see how many are "ours" come the summer transfer window and the top class players realise they won'. Be getting champions league football and they are stuck at a club who constantly break when they come under pressure, no matter how many managers or how many top class players pass through this club we will always be nearly men, and unless we can break that name for ourselves then don't expect top class players to stay here.

We will see who is "ours" come the end of the season only then will I forgive that shambolic heart breaking let down of a performance against an awful relegated side that I witnessed today.

So you REALLY believe that the team walked out, this afternoon, thinking:

"Awh, I can't be arsed today. Don't really wanna play in a Cup Final. Don't wanna perform for a nationwide audience. And it's only Pompey."

I don't think so! And, if I thought there was ANY professional football player with that attitude at our club, I'd want his contract cancelled tomorrow!

no dont think tahat but they all fookin bottled it and were shite. if i went to work and performed like they did i would get the fookin sack........not acceptable......... should have been a simple routine game against a shite team but still wasnt upto the job how is that acceptable......... it aint. fair enough 1, 2 maybe 3 players dont turn up but a whole fookin team just aint acceptable
