Dont get me wrong i really want us to get the 4th spot, more than anything in the world, however if we did finish 5th, Then don't you think we'd have a really good chance of winning it? I mean look at Fulham and Liverpool, Both teams we are better than and we have european suited players. we could have won it under Harry, if Ramos hadn't got us in such a mess that we had to player under 19's in it last time, And after all it is a european trophy
Caught in two minds with this really. Everyone knows that all the glory comes in the CL, and being in the Europa League could be a distraction to us from achieving our goal of getting into the CL. However, a part of me still wants to go as far as possible in the Europa League, for glory's sake.
COME ON YOU SPURS!!!
Simply put, Europa League wouldn't be bad...but Champions League would be better!![]()

Not for me id rather have no European footy than that marathon of a competiton that offers nothing in the way of a financial gain even if you do win the cup.
Full marks to Fulham and to Liverpool to an extent but i just dont want our league form to suffer for the sake of a worthless tournament, picking up injuries and wearing the players which in turn will see our league form dip does not excite me.
the europa league is still a decent cup competition and i would be happy with it but no doubt would prefer C/L footy.
it is better to fail aiming high, than to succeed aiming low,
and we spurs fans have set our sites very high,
so high in fact that even failure will have in it
an echo of glory.
I used to love going to Europa/UEFA cup games in the past few seasons, there was something exciting about them.
Let's remember that a few years before, Europe was way out of the question. Let's be thankful we're in with a shot of Europa League, never mind Champions League.

Aye the players we'd attract with cl football would be brilliant, I was just looking at the other side of things, As Spurs fans, we've had to get used to this, but I really do believe this is our year.
Teams in the Europa League always suffer in the League, so I must say yes it is that bad. A team has to play 18 games to reach the final, thats half a fecking Premiership campaign. We will be ruined by Easter next year.
Super Harry Redknapp,
He wears a magic hat,
He couldn't fly to Anfield
So turned into a cat!
The cl is the only thing to play for in the league cause wen we stuff the chavs in the fa cup final we will have Europa league anyway.... Do I want it? Not really but if we get the consolation cup we will need a monster squad to stop it affecting our league campaign! It's a tournament that really needs to be knock out from start to finish.
Oh - you want me to watch my mouth, how?
Take my ****in eyeballs out, and turn em around?
We will of course qualify for the europa cup if we get to the final
as the chavs are now there but i would still prefer the cl as it is the
premier club competition in the world.
My expectations at the beginning of the season were top 6 and maybe
a cup win.
But as the season has gone on i firmly believe we are good enough to finish top 4
and the next 14 days will decide that.
yeah i know what your saying, but hopefully we will add/improve to the squad over the summer either way, and we have a bigger and better squad then most teams in the Premier League anyway, so there would/should be no reason why we couldn't compete on all fronts. The only thing would be what players would play when, I mean like what would Harry put first if, just say for example we are in a similair postion next season at this point but with the Europa League aswell, What would we go for?
Which would be rather be remembered as.. Beating City , Liverpool and Villa to be the first team to break it in years. Or the team who Fails at that but beats some quite second rate teams to win the Europa league. WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO ACHIEVER CL. WE CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER!

Roman Pavlyuchenko - The Second Coming
2012-2013 Season, Return of the King.
The basic point to be taken from all of this is that WE SHOULD NOT, AS A CLUB, SETTLE. If we go to Europa, that shouldn't be good enough, we should want Champions League. If we finish 6th, that shouldn't be good enough, we should expect 4th. We always need to strive to be one step better than we were the day before. Improving everyday in training, in matches, in cups, should be the overall goal of our side. If we get better every time we step on the field, its hard to ask for anything else.
Point is, we have the talent on this squad where settling for Europa league, while an achievement in itself, isn't enough. Spurs fans will argue forever that we are a big club, and rightfully so as we are. But we will never be taken seriously by the rest of the top clubs until we accomplish something meaningful. Problem is, 6th place and a spot in the Europa league is not meaningful enough. We have the system now to get that 4th spot. Once we achieve that so many more doors open: more money, better players, more respect around the league, etc. We are in such a good spot to do it now that, instead of settling for the lesser we should not only desire but EXPECT the greater. It is Champions League or bust my friends, this has been our goal this year, and we should not settle until it has been achieved.

Europa would be pointless, it's like winning the carling cup really doesn't bring you on very far, no real revenue... to compete we NEED CL
think we need to be realistic. at start of season i would have taken 6th place and europa league. but then we have good season and everyone gets carried away
