HEURELHO GOMES reckons life at Spurs has given him the X-Factor needed to save his World Cup dream.
It is building up to a sensational end of season for the madcap Brazilian keeper with an FA Cup final and place in the Samba Boys squad for South Africa both up for grabs.
Gomes, 28, was called up by his country for the Confederations Cup last summer.
And he is hoping to give Brazil boss Dunga a further nudge ahead of the World Cup by helping Tottenham see off Portsmouth in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley tomorrow.
The keeper is a firm favourite with the North London faithful after a nightmare start to life at White Hart Lane.
But honest Gomes is adamant he could not have done it without the help of manager Harry Redknapp and, of course, watching X-Factor with his Spurs pals as he has grown to fall in love with London life.
Tottenham will need the kind of spell-binding performance which would get Simon Cowell drooling if they are to lift the cup for the first time since 1991.
Gomes feels on song, though.
And he revealed: "Fish and chips are my guilty pleasure, man. In moderation, of course.
"The X-Factor is interesting, too. The lads at Tottenham like to watch it at the team hotel and sometimes they would be talking about the judges' decision.
"My kids are fascinated by London. We go to the movies and they have forced me to go to a lot of museums.
"The Natural History Museum is amazing. We also like going to restaurants, especially Brazilian BBQ places. The London Eye was also pretty remarkable.
"I am a countryside boy, so a city as big as London still impresses me."
Former Tottenham chief Juande Ramos saw the worst of Gomes.
But the keeper said: "Harry is a great motivator and came out in my defence at times when everyone was giving me stick last season.
"I now feel people are seeing the real Gomes. I am so grateful to the manager for the faith he showed in me. Harry is doing a great job at Spurs and I hope we can achieve even greater things together.
"I am very happy with the five consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League and feel honoured to make history at Tottenham.
"I was out of the Brazil squad for three years but I took part in the Confederations Cup and only a recent thigh injury has prevented me from getting more call-ups.
"If I keep doing my job at Tottenham, my chances with Brazil can only grow.
"I hope Dunga is paying attention to what we are achieving here at Spurs."
Many thought Gomes would quit White Hart Lane last summer after some fumbling displays put huge question marks against his future in England. But the £7.8million signing from PSV does not want to be anywhere else right now.
He feels at home and said: "The thought of leaving never really crossed my mind, although last season there were some pretty disappointing moments for me.
"For three months I had to play away from my ideal form because of an injury that prevented me from moving properly.
"That affected my performances although I still think the media exaggerated a lot.
"I also reckon that the old prejudice against Brazilian keepers spoke louder than common sense".

Sexiest Spurs Fan!!!
I don't think there was ever a 'prejudice against Brazilian goalkeepers'. Gomes at the time was...well...terrible!
But now, he's showing us how he became a cult hero at PSV. His dedication to the club is right up there with Keane and Defoe. His goalkeeping skill is second to none and madcap is the one word I'd use to describe some of his saves lol.
Reporter: "What is it like to score against the best team in the world [Barcelona]?".
Jake Livermore: "Score against the best team in the world??? I play for them [TOTTENHAM]."
