Tottenham linked again with Real Madrid midfielder.
Tottenham are rumored to be ready to renew their interest in José María Gutiérrez aka Guti. Tottenham had shown interest in the Spanish midfielder last summer but for some reason Harry Redknapp was unable to conclude a deal and even though Guti is 33 years old Tottenham are thought to still be keen on the former Spanish International.
Guti has made it known that he will be leaving the Bernabeau in the summer and that nothing will change his mind, he wants to try English football first and foremost but failing that will look elsewhere in Europe or the Middle East, he will not play for another Spanish club, something he is 100% clear about.
Guti has attained a cult status at Real Madrid, the Madrid fans idolise him and along with Raul has been there through countless managers, he is one of the club captains, carries a lot of weight behind the scenes and on more than one occasion has lead delegations to the President’s office to demand change.
Whether he will adapt to English football is debatable but he carries immense experience and is a no holds barred midfielder not afraid to get stuck in and if anything he could probably get away with more rough play in the English game than the Spanish league.
Guti has played 14 times for the Spanish National team scoring three times, for Real Madrid he has netted just 45 times in 378 appearances so he is not as prolific scorer but then that was never his role, he is more of a playmaker come enforcer and for the most part has done his job well.
If Tottenham do not follow up their previous interest in Guti there are still a handful of Premiership clubs that will be more than interested and the chances of Guti playing football in next seasons Premiership are high.

33 years old!! if he's a freebie - this deal may happen
On a free he would be great. Imagine the experience he would bring especially after playing in the UCL for so long. Hopefully we might need that experience next season.
I'd like us to get him, play him once a week, get him to share his experience with our team.
Though I hear he shoots with both barrels so he'd probably be more at home with the Woolwich Ass Bandits.
Life's like a box of chocolates...
Doesn't have the best attitude... or the legs. But if it's on a free, and his wages aren't too high, then why not?
"You score goals as a kid. Then you grow up stupid and become a goalkeeper."
On a free, I'd say yes. I dunno what his wage demands would be like though.
The one thing we lack is experience, and this fellow has plenty, so could be a good move.
Him or Van Bommel would be decent signings!
In a world full of City's and United's...there is only one Hotspur
Like has been mentioned I would be in for it only if it were in fact on a free. At his age I don't think spending money to bring Guti in is worth it. Assuming he doesn't demand ridiculous wages it couldn't hurt I suppose. Experience is always welcome.
<------ Arsene Wenger
he'll be going to katar for some serious buck.
-never liked the guy, hope he doesen't sign for spurs
EDIT: Von Bommel?? hell yea, all we need is another slowass midfielder

Someone with a wealth of experience is essential... don't know how much he has got left in him though, not sure if he could cope with the demands of the prem. As said, fair wages and on a free can't go too wrong really, i bet he's much more useful in the squad than bloody jenas!
We all follow the Tottenham!
