England striker Jermain Defoe has been ruled out for a “few weeks” after suffering a grade-two tear to one of his hamstrings, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp confirmed today.
Defoe is Spurs’ leading scorer this season with 23 goals in all competitions.
He joins an already lengthy injury list at White Hart Lane with Redknapp currently without Tom Huddlestone, David Bentley, Aaron Lennon, Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate.

That means Pav is now our most important player in the coming weeks.
i don't think we will recall Keane. (don't know if we can) however we have baby giraffe and eider now to play up front. it will be intrested to see how Pav and Crouch will do together. i wouldn't mind seeing a 4-4-1-1 set up with pav uptop and either Kranjcar or Modric playing as a link up from mid-field to Pav.
This is the worst possible news coming into such a key point in the season.
Lets hope Eidur is ready to step up and play some football!

Well 3 weeks out isn't as bad as I expected, he has to come back already at full tilt though for the end of the season. Will he miss the scum game??
at 3 weeks (assuming it actually is 3 weeks) my guess is that he could be back in time for the trip to Wembly/Scum game. that saturday to be more specific. if not then def for the trip to ManUre maybe even the wednesday game if we are in wemby but he doesn't play.
