Harry rules out new Keane loan
Harry Redknapp is adamant there is 'no way' Robbie Keane will be returning to Celtic on loan again next season.
Keane'smove to Parkhead from Tottenham Hotspur
on deadline day was perhaps the biggest surprise of the January transfer window.
The Republic of Ireland striker has been quick to make an impact at Celtic, scoring eight goals in as many appearances, and there have been rumours of a bid to hang on to the 29-year-old next term.
Bhoys boss Tony Mowbrayrecently admitted he was keeping an open mind regarding the possibility of having Keane in his squad for next season.
However, Mowbray's Tottenham counterpart Redknapphas moved quickly to nip such a notion in the bud by confirming he does not want Keane to go out on loan again.
"I don't see us loaning Robbie out again," Redknapp said in the Scottish Sun.
"We paid a lot of money for him. So it's not something I see happening. It would obviously be up to the chairman, but I couldn't see it being a possibility.
"I certainly would not want it to be happening.
"Robbie's only on loan until the end of this season as far as we're concerned.
"We want him back so in my mind there's no way of another loan deal."

i think if his confidence returns then he still has a chance with us. id rather have an inform keane than pav
reading between the lines i would say he'd be happy to sell him though
Yeah an in form Keane is definitely better than anything we have seen from Pav (so far). I think it all depends on Pav's performance for the rest of this season whether Keane will have a place in the team or will be left in a similar position as this season (riding the bench). I don't see how Harry can have a place in mind for Defoe, Crouch, Pav, Kean, Ediur, that is just too many front men that will not be happy if they are not playing consistently.
So the question is: Someone has to go, Who is it likely to be?
-Ediur hasn't done much but you never know if he gets a bit more fit, plus he can play in a diversity of roles.
-Pav has been close to the chopping block already, harry could see him as likely moving on so Keane is needed as the 3rd striker, assuming he sticks with his golden boy pete.
-Or just maybe these threads have got harry thinking and he finally realizes that everyone wants to see us play football, so golden boy pete has to go (pipe dream).
Personally I think we need to offload Keane and Crouch and bring in at least one new striker.
Just a reminder that Gudjohnsen is only on loan to Spurs from AS Monaco until the end of this season - he's not officially a Spurs player and I'm not too sure if Harry would want him as one anyway.
I feel that Spurs really need four top class strikers, especially if we're going to be competing in Europe next season, so Keane re-joining Defoe, Crouch and Pavlyuchenko would be the ideal situation for us.
All four have their unique qualities and are capable of causing an attacking threat with the added advantage that they all are experienced here at the club so there's no "bedding-in" period to worry about, as there always is with new players.
i agree with 60/61 on this. Eider is just on loan and was brought in as cover because 'Arry knew he was going to loan out Keane. since it is a certainty that we will be in Europe (whether that is Champs or Europa cause i don't see us finishing lower than 7th) we will need all the strikers we can get. i would like to 'Arry to sell Crouch (pipe dream we know) and get in a better finisher. Keane just needs a proper run and a set up that benifits him although we shouldn't bend all over to try and suit him only. he should need to change his game as well to fit in with Spurs.
I agree with what you all said, and Ediur's loan being up is a good point 6061.
Still not excited at all at the prospect of our 4 frontmen for next season again being Keane, Defoe, Crouch, and Pav. Especially as we will also be playing european football it could use improvement. I feel Pav is still fragile but would love to see him back if he truly wants to be, of course Keane and Defoe have a place even if Keane is not exactly Keane of old. Problem is, he was not happy about being on the bench this year, and just don't see his position in the pecking order changing drastically next season. He didn't go on loan for world cup place reasons, so I am not entirely sure he is going to accept a secondary role next season if he didn't accept one this season.
Lastly, I too would like to see crouch go and get in someone else. As we have all talked about before, he brings a different option, but that option is not very good football and can be detrimental over the course of the season as we fall into spells of poor passing and uncreative bang it up to crouch football.
Correct.......... This is just an invite to ither clubs to make a cheeky bid.
We will then bang on about how we didnt loan him out because he was in our plans to bump up the price.
Keano to Wolves somehow....? If they had any money it would be nailed on, but Sunderland with their pot of dough could be a posibility.
what about trying to buy torres - or trade him for keane (ha!) joking aside, i would welcome a stable season with four settled strikers, the challenge of champions league football, and a manager able to do his job without the threat of the sack hanging over him
