Pav plans Spurs stay
Striker focused on success at White Hart Lane
![]()
Roman Pavlyuchenko has performed a dramatic U-turn by declaring that he wants to stay at Tottenham.
The Russia international seemed to be on his way out of White Hart Laneduring the January transfer window, but Spurs boss Harry Redknapp
decided to retain his services and instead allowed Robbie Keane
to leave for Celtic on loan.
The 28-year-old has found himself back in favour in recent weeks and he has taken his chance by netting eight goals in six games.
Pavlyuchenkoinsists he is not thinking about his future and is focused on helping Spurs finish in the top four and winning the FA Cup.
"I'm not in a hurry to make decisions on my career - unlike last month, when I was sure I would leave," said Pavlyuchenko.
"I now think only about the end of the season.
"We stand a good chance of finishing in the Champions League places, so we shouldn't waste this opportunity.
"And we will fight for the FA Cup, too. So I will think about my future in May.
"And I'm not going to guess how many goals I'll score - let's count them once it's over."
What a difference a few games and a good run in the side has made for Pav. Hope he stays and continues to bang in the goals.
Saying that he will think about his future in May hardly screams that he wants to stay at WHL in my opinion . . . .
Love him to stay, but fook he needs to sort media side of things out.
Super Harry Redknapp,
He wears a magic hat,
He couldn't fly to Anfield
So turned into a cat!

But does he ever really say that he wants to stay at Spurs? All these quotes reveal is that he won't think about his future until the end of the season. I would love for him to stay, but this article is not definitive either way. I've seen just as many rumors that say he will still be gone.

i love how pav saying "we'll wait and see in the summer" apparently is russian for 'declaring that he wants to stay at Tottenham'. media bullcrap. if he stays, great, I'm all for it, but I just don't think he will.
TOTTENHAM 'TIL I DIE!
agent talk. He's being politic and keeping his options open. Again, I'll be surprised (pleasantly) if he's here next August. Let's just enjoy his run of form now and worry about his future later.
i think he will stay, id be really suprised if he left. He just wanted to play, right now hes playing, hes in a great team and hes in the best league.

nah he'll stay, i think he has an affinity for the fans and he now sees that he was loved all along at THFC by the majority of the fans and the world wasn't against him, he wanted to play and now he is and enjoying his football again, why would he leave??

Old news...He said this about 2 weeks ago its just got a different Heading!!!
My favourite spurs player!
Yeah I agree, that says nothing about him wanting to stay at Spurs. He cant move anyway until the summer, and all he's saying is that his focused on the rest of the season, and wont think about it until May.
Thats nice and all, but I dont expect anything less from anyone who plays for Spurs to be honest.
He used the word 'we' alot which always a good sign
more the fact arry refusing to sell him in jan.
TOTTENHAM 'TIL I DIE!
Theres nothing in that to suggest hes going to commit to a club that has treated him poorly is there, the lad is bang in form and i now hope he remains at Spurs and improves alongside Defoe, however no one coud blame the lad if he wants out come the summer which i fear will happen.
