Rose vs. Arsenal 2-1
Seeing all the yidos smiling at last- Priceless
Thats what I keep thinking every time we drop points. We would be right in there at the top, scrapping with Chavs and United. You can add the Birmingham away game to that lot as well. We should have won most of those games judging by performance and chances created. We've never really performed outstandingly bad this season. Even when we were mediocre we were still creating chances and more than capable of winning.
This is why I am really optimistic about next season. If we can keep our squad together as good as it is this season and maybe even add to it here and there, we can really challenge. We need to learn how to lock down the games when we get ahead and become a truly formidable opponent to anyone. Thats our biggest issue. Three points by brute force.
What if we weren't complete pu$$ies and actually decided to r@pe Liverpool while they were down...
Anyway we can't look at what could have been. We're in a great situation as it is and I do believe we can get into the top 4. Of course a lot of hard work is still required but we have the ability to get there and with the fans spurring us all the way I don't see any reason as to why we won't get CL footy next season.
COME ON YOU SPURS!!!

I agree with Comeonyouspurs here - "what if's" don't matter, "what's next" (next game) does...the argument could be turned around, what if Dindane shots at our away game against Pompey went in? that's minus 3. We can do the same with games we've won, but what's the point? Let's focus on Stoke
I think there it is important to learn from mistakes. Our games in the next couple of months will be crucial but we can't possibly hope to achieve anything from them if we don't keep at least one eye on the mistakes we've been making this season.
"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

ifs and buts dont cut it with me as has already been said we have been lucky at times so we cant moan too much... and every club can say the same..... but one good point is that we are on course for breaking our premier league points record and to do that will mean an excellent season and with a couple of good buys i think next season we may do even better....coys
Well the goal was "what ifs" not necessaraly what i said, but was hoping maybe others could reflect on other pointers, for example if we did not have so many injurys, or if Keane didnt go on loan, or if Assou Ekotto didnt get injured would Bale of got his run? etc etc there are plenty of "what if's" to reflect on, not necessaraly on regrets, but especially on pointers on what we can gain experiance on, work on, for the next season, and what we actually are capable on!

What IF City had got somethink against United (4-3) or beat Wigan (1-1),Fulham (2-2),Burnley (3-3),Hull (1-1),Bolton (3-3),Stoke (1-1),Sunderland (1-1). What IF Villa beat Wolves (1-1),Sunderland (0-0),Burnley (1-1),Stoke (0-0). What IF Liverpool didn't concede that goal against Sunderland via the beachball. Every club fighting for 4th as a what IF scenario.
As I have said repeatedly, you cannot say "if we had won here, we would be there". Just like you cannot say in a football match "if we had scored that penalty, we would've won 1-0". Everything changes.
When we lost to Wolves at Home we went on a magnificent run through December which we may well not have done had we got a more positive result. By losing 1-0 it put extra emphasis on our game at Manchester City and look at Benny Ekotto as a case in point: He left the pitch after a very poor performance against Wolves and got into a barney with a fan who had called him "sh1t". Benny then went out against City with a point to prove and had a magnificent game. There is a very good chance that he would not have played to that standard had he played better against Wolves.
It is just 1 of those things. Goals change games, as they say, and had we scored against Wolves or gone on to win the game, everything that transpired after the time our equaliser would have been altered. We might even have picked up injuries to players as Wolves tried to fight their way back into the game. Imagine if we had won that game but Niko had to come off toward the end after suffering a poor challenge as we keep possession & Wolves get increasingly frustrated in trying to win the ball back? Niko went on to score a brace for us against City, including that all important opening goal, so what would've happened if he had been missing?
Of course, that means nothing because it is all guesswork, but that is exactly my point. Saying if we had won against Wolves, or Stoke or Hull for that matter, we would be above Arsenal now is equally as likely - its all guesswork & we cannot know where we would be now if we had won those games. In all likelihood, we would be exactly where we are now.
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old

Winning any of these games would have had a butterfly effect on the rest of the season.
But to answer your question, we'd be 2nd - a point behind Manchester United with a game in hand.
