First of all, I apologise if my english is bad, its because a) its not my first language and b) ive stayed up all night on speed. Alright.

This is about glory hunting ****s.

For me one the most glorious chapters in football history was when Maradona, maybe the best player ever, chose to go to Napoli. Here we have a true legend who chooses not money and not glory hunting. He came to a struggling side and helped make them a force in european football winning league titles and the uefa cup. Why do so few footballers not follow his example?

Where is the achievement in going to a team already challenging for the title? Where is the spirit of actually achieving something heroic?

I think footballers are a disgrace, they go to where the money is and to teams already at the top. Why cant top players go to smaller clubs and help them achieve something memorable? I dont know.

Footballers are athletes, the spirit in sports for me is achieving something against the odds. Wheres the glory in going to a club full of world class players and make them stronger? This annoys me. Theres no honour in football anymore and money is ruining the beautiful game. Certainly Maradonas achievements rank higher than for an example Ronaldo winning the spanish league (lets hope he doesnt) with a team already at the top?

Have you got any good examples of players like Maradona? I would like to hear them!

Players like Alessandro Nesta for example disgust me. Heres a kid who got through the Lazio youth system, won the league with them and when his team started going down he jumped ships to a team already at the top.

Only players I can think of that are good rolemodels and athletes are the ones staying at one club like King, Totti, Gerrard etc.

Of course we have all the players that are good but use smaller clubs as stepping stones like Ronaldinho with PSG and Ronaldo with PSV. Berbatov did this with us and Im sure Modric will too. Its a shame, where is the athletic achievement of going to a club already in the champions league?

Im ****ed up right now so maybe this is just incomprehensible crap, but id like the mentality of footballers to change. Why not become heroes forever like Maradona at Napoli, its hard to achieve such a thing, sure, but the rewards would be great.

Maybe im repeating myself, I just write down what pops up in my brain.

Heres for Sandro choosing to come to Spurs and top players like Modric and Bale staying and trying to be part of something fantastic instead of leaving when some soulless CL club makes a bid.

LOL, laughed a bit from some of the responses.

Id just like to clarify that im not a junkie. I have aspergers syndrome and schizofrenia and I take a medicin (concerta) which has amfetamine in it. Every month when I get my medicines I take a tripple dose and stay up one night and just have a blast, then im "clean" for the rest of the month. So thats it.

Someone mentioned paranoia, I have paranoid schizofrenia. I believe that people conspire against me, that im jesus christ reborn and that people can hear what I think. Its funny when you talk about it but my condition is pure hell. When I was at the lane for the Stoke game in last october they showed a short film of Bill Nicholson on the jumbotrone, the speaker said something like "today we honour the memory of mr. Tottenham himself", when I heard that I thought they were talking about me, then it said "mr. Bill Nicholson who passed away five years ago" and when I heard that I felt relieved, thank god they werent talking about me. LOL.

Seriously I dont think i am brush daft not that you are either but growing up as a kid I always had a feeling that I was an experiment and that everyone around me (including my family) were studying me and watching me from a distance somehow.

I though i was a superior human who was being studdied and nurtured as if i was somthing very very special or a robot or artifical inteligence or something.

Nowadays I have realsied that i am someone very very special.............me.

Unfortunately, that's life.

If you're a child, wanting to be a footballer, you dream of playing at the Bernabeu or San Siro. If a club offers you more money to do this, and the chance to do this, you would take it, right?

At the end of the day, people want to retire having achieved something. Players want to show off their FA Cup medal or UEFA Cup medal to their children. It's human nature.

Yes, there are a small number of players out there who are successful and happy to join an unsuccessful club. Shearer to Newscastle United - his love for his home town helped him make that decision. Jurgen Klinsmann to Spurs.
