Newspappers and Player Ratings

I can"t watch every Spurs game so i go to some English portals Sky Sport,The Times,Guardian and almost every time they have completely different opinions, who to trust ?
example game vs Blackburn reports on Modric game

The Times - In midfield, the immensely talented little Luka Modric had another of his outstanding games with a combination of skill and intelligence. Time and again, making light of a slender physique, he set his team on the move.
Player of the game : Luka Modric

Guardian - Modric played well and controlled the midfield, he was solid.

Sky Sports - Modric wasn"t at his best and he was one of worst rated Tottenham players..

To be honest I think the best judge of how the boys played is right here in the "player of the season" match threads.When you consider the press keep singing one dimensional Walcott's praises it's clear they don't actually watch the games properly.Fans know what level each player is either at or should be at and will praise or criticise accordingly.Granted some of us get a bit too excited and are overly gushing with praise or hate towards the team but the wide range of comments from various fans is a far better marker for performance than trusting journalists or the sky user ratings that are open to everybody both fans and rivals alike

Good post mate , it proves how eratic these reporters are, tbh I was at the game and my personal view was that Luka did ok, had an average game and wasnt that influential, but maybe it was because I was expecting more from him.

The best way to find out how we really played is to come look at this forum, gives alot more accurate representation of how we did because the posters have nothing to gain from lieing unlike a newspaper. Also a newspaper or website will talk about other things whereas here its 95% tottenham talk, as for Modric i thought he was pretty quiet against blackburn so i would say Sky sports is right, he doesnt seem to be as effect in the centre or perhaps he was outshone (is that a word?) by the likes of Bale and Palacious who were phenominal.

Most reporters are useless. It is almost sickening the amount of rumors and other rubbish that is posted re: EPL football.
