Tom pens new deal
15 March 2010
The Club is delighted to announce that Tom Huddlestone has signed a new contract that will see him at White Hart Lane until 2015.
The 23-year-old has been a regular fixture in our starting XI this season and up until his recent ankle injury Tom had featured in all but three games, making 34 appearances and scoring three times.
His performances in the centre of our midfield caught the eye of England Manager Fabio Capello who handed him his senior international debut against Brazil in November.
The stylish midfielder joined us from Derby County in July 2005 and has gone on to make a total of 147 appearances for the Club

Wonderful to hear. Come back strong and keep gettin' better everyday, Tommy.

I must admit i was a strong doubter of Hudds ability. However, this season he has shown me he has what it takes to be a big player for us, so for that i am really happy. I don't think he's quite there yet, however i think that with the rate of improvement he has shown its a very good move by spurs to tie him down on a long term deal.
The £2 million Spurs gave Derby County for him back in July 2005 looks like absolute peanuts now.
Several of our players have stepped-up this season but none more so, I feel, that Tom who has become a regular fixture in the starting line-up.
I hope he gets back in time not only to help Spurs in our persuit of Fourth place & the FA Cup but also for England's World Cup squad in the summer.
i was in two minds as to what to think of hudd in the long term, i mean, i keep harping on about a box-to-box goalscoring midfielder, but hudd is the playmaker, he is useful to have around,
also it is good to see that we are tieing players down to long term deals because it means we have the same nucleus of a team for years to come, we should know from experience you need a team to play together for a while to win trophies, look at chelsea, they have the same spine of team for the last 5 years, cech, carvalho, terry, essien, lampard and drogba, and they are successful

huddlestone has been fantastic this season and we have missed him lately since his injury. He deserves his 5 year contract after the effort he has put in this season and i now expect it from him for the next 5 years.
Im over the moon with this news now all we need is.....
Modric, Bale, Lennon, Charlie, Gomes to follow him.
My favourite spurs player!
thats the best news maan thaankss !! get well soon hudd n come baak strong
I was a huge doubter.
I think he is way way off fufilling his potential still though.
A bit more of a nasty streak is needed and a bit more experience and workrate and he will be one hell of a player.
Great news, one of the best passers of the ball i've ever seen.
Great news. Stability and continuity with the core of players we have will translate into long-term success.
