Gotta disagree, dno if anyone saw messi's first goal against valencia, the kid is something special, to the point where he surpasses anyone on the planet and any comparison to another players abilities is laughable. Rooney is good, but he is in the league of other world class players where as soon as they hit a good run of form they are hyped about then they die down a bit, great players, but not the best just in awesome form.


Best in the Premier league? perhaps.

I think Rooney is more effective than Messi at the moment, but Messi has more class and ability than Rooney.

A bit like Bale and Modric at Spurs at the moment? Modric is just a class above, oozes talent, but Bale leaves a larger mark on a game in hsi current form.

Rooney IS the best player in the world ATM. His goal record says it all, really. He can finish in every which way and always scores goals in clutch moments. Messi's skill is more diverse, but Rooney is in the best form right now.
