sat in park lane today and have to say how quiet the shelf was very dissapointed
Some of the post-match articles note the same thing. I couldn't notice on TV as the commentary at the pub was not very loud. Was this really the case?
<------ Arsene Wenger
I have to say watching the game on sky it seemed quiet.
Fookin hell lads dont offend the faithfull you will have uproar on here.
How dare us armchair fans question the diehards!!!
I personaly didnt notice any diference, i just turned my TV up louder![]()
'cos I weren't there ;-)
"We're shelf-side, we're shelf-side, we're shelf-side Tottenham"
lots of strangers on the shelf yesterday, some bloke a row or two back from me complained the whole way through the game when fans jumped up, as he could not see. Those part-timers never sing
I was sat in the shelf yesterday, and it seemed that there were A LOT of American fans around. Maybe it was due to it being moved to an earlier time, at the end of the day it was against Blackburn, so a lot more tickets went on General Sale? I tried for months to get tickets, and Blackburn was the only game we had a chance in. A lot of American fans around were being asked where they got their tickets from some Touting Officer guy trying to clamp down on tickets, and it seemed everyone around us had paid about £80 for tickets from some random guys outside.
The Americans were funny though, like someone said, got all funny when you jumped up and stuff. One even said "Why are the Spurs fans dissing at each other?" when everyone was singing We are the Park Lane/Shelf Side song. I hung my head in shame.
The place deffo gives you goosebumps when it gets into full voice though!
Super Harry Redknapp,
He wears a magic hat,
He couldn't fly to Anfield
So turned into a cat!

at minor games like that sometimes the shelf is quiet, i experienced it against birmingham earlier in the season, it is very frustrating when someone tries to start up songs and no one responds, i didnt have the b@lls to try and start songs but a guy in front of me did and i felt sorry for him, no one cared, because we were drawing 1-1 at the time with birmingham

White Hart Lane needs to be in full voice for every game not just the 'big' games or London derby's. I try and stand up all the time in Park Lane but the stewards try getting everyone to sit down, if everyone stood up and took no notice they ain't goin to throw out 5,000 fans are they !!!!!
There were so many newbie's there yesterday , as there were lots of songs breaking out but not getting a full backing cos either they didn't know the words or chose not to sing . Even the supa Pav song seemed to struggle to gain momentum . We tried our best to get everyone on song but we just couldn't get enough voices to gain the rest of our supporters . Also at half time the sky sound guys came round and checked the pitchside microphones = so it would appear that they were either faulty or not connected .
Nice to get the three points , i was worried about this one because Sam seems to have them playing well .
This would make sense, when I got home I watched the match back and the first 10mins came across really well, but the whole banter with Robbo and the singing when he came off then the boos for Jason Brown just were non existent on Sky. Even the Super Pav chants when he scored seemed quiet on TV later on, but were decent at the time.

Wow the team are back and they have forgot their sense of humor again.
Growing up all round my dear i think.
