Keane makes pitches claim
Celtic, 15:00, February 18, 2010
Robbie Keane says his spell at Celtic should be judged at the end of the season but poor SPL pitches are not helping his progress.
Keane has scored twice in his four appearances for the Hoops so far on his loan move from Spurs but has failed to reignite Celtic's title chances.
However, the Republic of Ireland hitman insists it will come good for him north of the border eventually as he comes to terms with life at Parkhead and gets used to his new surroundings - and poorer pitches - in Scotland.
He said: "The last few games, the keepers have been pulling off saves left, right and centre. You expect that when you come up here. People will try to do their best against you. That's just the way it is.
"I've got a couple of goals now, and I'm sure there will be a lot more to come before the end of the season.
"Two goals in four games is not too bad. But I'll be hoping that, come the end of the season, to score a lot of goals, touch wood, with no injuries.
"I'd like to get judged towards the end of the season rather than four games in."
Keane added: I've only played one game at home and the rest have been away on bad pitches, which didn't really help.
"On Saturday, the pitch (at Aberdeen) was horrendous. I've never played on one like that."

Swannydownthelane.....great times,great memories
Come On You SPURS
Wasn't Keane the one years ago at Inter milan citing how they have an uneven pitch for training close/ball control? And how he liked it or something to that effect? Why is he bitching about the pitch now?
I watched the Celtic game at Aberdeen and the pitch was more dirt than grass. more of a cow pasture.
I think he will help Celtic but do you think he will end up back with Spurs?
nope, good riddance imo, he pranced about like he was jesus at WHL when he came back and thought he was gods gift, he wasn't, his attitude stunk and hopefully we'll get a good 10M for him in the summer and we can use that money to get someone decent like moutinho babbbbbbbbyyyyyy
