A game of 2 halves is a cliche used often but yesterday was a fine example of it. We were totally ineffective in the first half and in the second half it was like we were a different team, its just a pitty we cant take penalties!!!!!! didnt Kranjcar take them at pompey?? give him a go next time, theres one thing he cant do any worse than the others! anyway thought it was good 2nd half performance by the yids
Although Thud's passing has improved, I can't figure out how he's got a reputation for shots on goal....he can't even get the ball in the net from a penalty!....and what was that stuttering run up all about?
With the exception of Bale, the whole team were dross! OK they shaped up in the 2nd half, but only by comparison with the abysmal first 45!
yeah to be honest they couldnt play any worse really!lol bale has been our best player for the last few games, really making himself a key player. would like to see him play on the left wing when benoit gets back, although that could pose problems for harry in midfield
Think we played well second half because we got the ball down and none of this long ball crap like we're used to at the lane. Well done boys maybe this can be the shot in the arm we've needed for weeks.
We certainly looked to have more purpose in our movement in the second half . I dont want to end up with a team that has to worry about wether or not we can slot away a penalty to win a game , but when we do actually get a penalty we should have a taker that doesn't make the goalkeeper confident . Huddlestone bottled it = as he started his run up , it gave me the impression he was preparing to Hi-jump over the crossbar - not strike the ball . That proves that adrenalin is brown . We need someone with the balls to step up and punish any team that think its fine to cheat .
Huddlestone is a good penalty taker but for some reason he wasn't up for taking that one . The best way to get him back on track is to let him take the next one . Even if the duty changes to someone else . When it comes to penalty shootouts you dont want 8 failed penalty takers stepping up to the kicks , you want them all confident . Martin Jol used to make the lads have a penalty shoot before the training finished . Maybe we should re-introduce that to our training .
apparently huddlestone smashes them in all day in training, it just looked like yesterday he wasnt confident. the run up kind of give that away lol, well if you call it a run up. i thought kranjcar was going to take it at first, maybe he would have had the composure which was required??
yeah cos hes a confidence player, he shouldnt let it get to him. we were chanting his name after the game so he knows hes got our support, by the way did you enjoy the 'stick your red roses up your ****' chant??lol
It looked to me as if it was just suddenly thrust upon him and he panicked, you could see in his body language he was going to miss, but let take another one,its the only wayto get his confidense back.
Huddlestone had a chance to take the pens and wasted it, although the lad has improvd his all round game i dont think hes the quality Spurs need, i know alot love him but i dont see it.
Theres a real problem with Spurs attitude these days, they come out and play appaulingly first half not to mention 90 mins against Wolves, im pointing the finger at Harry and his fifty hanger oners who appear to be doing nothing on the side lines either.
Your wrong Yidno1, we normally come out with all guns blazing for the first 20 mins without scoring and then go off the boil until the last 20 mins. Against Bolton we started really bad and then stepped it up in the second half.
Glad to see you were not too disrespectful to our thudd 2nite and he is quality.
WE'RE THE PARK LANE
WE ARE N17
Im not wrong mate we started poorly against Wolves aswell and the lack of chances being taken is worrying.
You can keep Tommy old chap, i beleive hel be replaced in the summer.
An all round nightmare game for the Hudd , what with the yellow card and all . The boy will bounce back ok . You cant buy a young quality team for the wages we pay so we have to build one . Tommy will be around for a good while yet . You dont get to be the U21 captain by being a muppet...................!!!
Can`t agree with you there Yidno1, Tommys been one of our most consistemt players all season.
