Reports say that Comolli has done a wishlist of keepers, and that scouts are cheking them. The names are Samir Handanovic (Slovenia 23y old- Udinese), Manuel Neuer (Germany 21y old-Schalke 04) and Igor Akinfeev (Russia 21y old- CSKA Moskow)
Anyone seen any of them play??
Don't know though if they are of Ramos choice. Would be a bad start for their relationship if the aren't
hi!! i've seen played all of them on tv, so what I can say about them is... Handanovic doesn't make many mistakes and does well in this seria A season with udinese, but i think he still lacks experience from the big games, although he is Slovenias No.1.. Neuer played an important role in last Schalke season and was very constant throughout the season, but i saw him making few mistakes this season, especially at schalke's last champions league match... I think that Akinfeev still has the most potential of those three, but he lost season to injury, so it still must be seen how good he is at the moment... although i think robbo is a good keeper, he must have a good competition, otherwise we all see what happens when he has a cemented No.1 spot...But my suggestion for a new keeper is still Ben Foster or perhaps Kirkland... what do you think??
I'm all for improving the squad, but why is commolli drawing up wishlists? Really not sure about this continental approach to running the club...
Manuel Neuer is a fantastic young GK quick to react to every ball(remainds me of Iker Casillas at times),good in the air, smart positioning, good 1on1, played recently in an Under 21 official Int. against Israel(saw the game) and was wonderful for his team(match ended 2-2) and since watched him playing in the league and the CL(not too bad only one mistake in the first goal in teams match VS Chelsea scoredd by Malouda), was last years GK of the Season by Players vote.Originally Posted by Ossie
About Igor Akinfeev i can say that he playes for his national team since the age of 19 so that should say alot about that lad, like Neuer he was born in 86 played over 140 Mat. for his club team CSKA, and won17 caps for his native Russia. since Akinfeev's injury few weeks into the Russian PL the CSKA defance struggled to imprese(top class Int. defenders play for them) and his injury cost them the championchip, he is rated as one of the top 10 GK of the futere.
Hope it was enough Info and about Handanovic i can say he's good but i am not sure if he can match the other players ability, bye!
