Ledley should figure in 1 game over Xmas...Swanny
Ledley on way back
18 December 2009

Ledley King is on his way back - and Harry Redknapp is hoping he will return to action over the Christmas period.
The defender returned to training in the snow at Spurs Lodge this afternoon (Friday, December 1after missing our last six games initially with a hamstring problem, then a knee injury.
Boss Harry reported this morning: "Ledley's training today and should be fit for the Christmas period.
"He's been out, Jonathan Woodgate's been out but Michael Dawson and Sebastien Bassong have been in fine form for us.
"Michael has been magnificent. I made him captain again against City and he led from the front.
"Ledley's such an important player for us though and when he's fit, he's one of the best in the country.
"He won't play in both games over Christmas (Fulham on Boxing Day, West Ham on Decemeber 2because he won't play twice in three days, but hopefully we'll get a game out of him."

Swannydownthelane.....great times,great memories
Come On You SPURS
Play him against Fulham coz of Zamoro.
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
I just seen him, where i work, doing his Christmas shopping.
I presume the Handbag wasnt for him![]()
If needed in jan... King-Dawson at Cb with Bassong left back?
However you look at it, it looks a whole lot rosier now. Good news
He gives us something else when he plays.
Daws has got to be 1st choice though.
Agreed Daws has got to be the Terry style rock in our defense, Ledley is certainly not at the level of performance he was even 6 months ago, although he is useful to still have so others can learn from him.
I hear he was offered a new contract in the last month or so... was that a pay as you play?
nope 70k 2 year deal, from what i read.
Deserves it but i can see him getting another one unless they grow him some bionic legs.
Great that he might he able to feature in a game over Christmas, I'd definatly play bassong left back over bale at the moment but the way Harry was talking up bale I would have thought he will play there.
Dawson and King would he a good pairing against on form Zamora do, I can't believe I actually fear Zamora. Never thought that would happen.
He was talking him up because he dident think Bassong would be here com January
I'm affraid Bale wont get his chance if King ore Woody are OK to play.
In defensive terms, Bale is the worst Spurs left back in recent memory. I like the idea of Bassong at left back although I wonder whether he has the speed to keep up with speedy wingers like Duff.
Daws has been collosal this season - he has to be the #1 option (over both Ledders & Woody) for our central defence.
We shouldn't change the center pairing, Daws and Bass are the future let them play together as much as possible. Ledley is a great stand in at left back, unlike many of you I would give Bale the chance. With a settled team around him maybe, just maybe he will show his true ability, remember he's still only 20. Perhaps not away at Fulham where the extra strength of Ledley will be useful but for sure at home v the spammers ............
“Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself.”
This is great, but a bit worried about his form.. if hes performing well.. stick him in the team, otherwise give him 10-20 mins when we are up!
