There seems to be mixed views on this so I thought i'd put it out to vote - what do you reckon yids?
I say out BTW
NO he is one of our best defenders, just because he trains on his own and he has an injury when he is playing he is fantastic!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! why are people thinking this, we need him.
Stuntman Mike (16-11-2009)
no, we need to use him while he lasts, as he is one of the best in the world on his day, but i agree we need to get backup plans for when his knee packs in

He is having a bad patch, a dip in form. I think we need to see how he goes till the end of the season before we can start talking about stuff like that. It may well turn out that he never makes it back to his best, then what do we do still keep him on the pitch? Its not going to do Spurs nor him any good.
Keep him in for he is our true leader captain and inspiration

We must give him time to rest the injury and the only way to do that is to drop Ledley until the New Year.
Daws looks good and we have a run of games from which we SHOULD get results.
Ledders has lost that edge that made him one of the best in the world. He may be able to get back to that level, if he is given time.
To suggest to play him until the end of the season maybe the last straw.

The thing is, is that he keeps picking up new injuries along the way. We have no idea if he's playing through the pain or they having a greater effect on him that what originally thought.
Even in his current state, when on form - he is the best CB in the world - nobody can do what he does and still perform to the same level.
However, if he continues like he has been for the past few matches, he should consider retiring. As hard as it is, it will be for our benefit as well as his own.
"You score goals as a kid. Then you grow up stupid and become a goalkeeper."
I agree that to play him regularly is not on and indeed this has been the case for some time, however the fact remains he is a very important squad member with true leadership qualities

You have hit the nail on the head. If Ledders is playing through injuries, he will compensate elsewhere in trying to protect the injury site and this will then cause further injuries.
Example ....If you have an injury to your left knee you will protect the area and change your gait and in doing so will aggravate the right hip.
I don't think it is time to talk of Ledley retiring but resting.
The vote is 'to drop' Ledders not to get rid. He needs dropping for his own good and future.

Even when Ledley isn't 100%, he's one of our best defenders and even when playing on crutches is the best defender in the league...I say IN
My heart says he stays but my footballing mind tells me that he was at fault for at least 2 if not all 3 of the goals in the scum game . A player that has come through the ranks and stayed loyal throughout his carreer and is a true ambassador for what being a spurs legend means . But we are in a results business .
I would say that he shouldn't be fielded against Ar5ena1 / Man Utd / Liverpooool / or Chelski . Its just that extra strength these teams find towards the end of the games . I've watched the highlights now and not one of the goals was anything to talk about . Ok there was a great finish for 1 goal but there was no great build up play = we gave the fooker the ball .
As for dropping him completely = dont make laugh - he's been getting call ups for England ffs - does that sound like a footballer that cant play football ???.

Towards the end of last season, we were solid at the back, by maintaining clean sheets. We were strong at the start of this season because we improved on the team that we had last season.
However the injury bug caught up with our players and since the start of the season, Gomes - Woody - Ledley (the key triangle to our clean sheet run last season) just never had a chance to gel/play together since the start of the season.
The blame for the goals that we conceded against the scum shouldn't just rest on Ledley but should rest on the whole team.
Keep him in for now, see how he gets on after this short break. Its too much of a waste if he is on form, which is more often than not and sits on the bench.
