for me i would start with hutton and bale they give you so much going forward mabye not always the strongest in defence but corluka and ekotto defending has been poor recently and corluka seems to be getting slower every week and not looking as strong a player he was at start of season and if lennons injured hutton will give us the pace we need down right
Both played very well together last night , and created a good few chances .
For me it would be Hutton and BAE - both are great pushing forward and at the Newcastle game last season at WHL, Hutton linked well with Lennon on the right.
god forbid the croatians from seeing this thread.
Both played reasonably well..still have my doubts on Hutton...it's that age old problem of going forward but not too clever on back defence,..![]()
Bale has alot about him and needs to do well on a consistant basis. When on form he is a brilliant left back/mid.
Hutton will always make mistakes although he is good going forward but he can get caught at the back. I prefer him playing with Bentley ahead of him rather than Lennon as it seems to work better.
i,d prefer anybody than corluka tbh, he,s a decent enough player but i dont think he is a great player, and i agree he is getting slower and slower, not one for the future imo.
Would not want to start Hutton against the gooners on Saturday, after last years performance in the 4-4.
Still think Corluka is the better all round defender/performer. I do however think Bale should be our starting Left back, or even start left midfield.
Agree with your latter point, I think Charlie links up brilliantly (when on form) with Azza, and Hutton and Bentley seems to be a really good mix. With Charlie and Bentley, i think theres a lack of pace, whereas Hutton and Lennon seem to get mixed up a little and Hutton can get exposed for his defensive frailties.
I still think Bale is central to the future of our side, and will be a massive player for us on the left of midfield. I just hope he can get over these injuries and be the top class player he is capable of being
apparently Hutton needs to lay off the Bolivian marching powder
The positions are Left and Right sided DEFENDERS because the players who play there have the primary job of DEFENDING. Going forward is part of the job description but it isn't necessary to be top class in that. If we play Hutton and Bale they will both get skinned so many times that Palacios will be run ragged having to move out wide to cover both men when they go forward, and we'll probably end up having a lot of crosses against us from which the opposition might end up scoring.
COME ON YOU SPURS!!!
I dont see why we should adopt different tactics just cos its the scum . We can win it if we play the way we normally play , the minute you start worrying about them - your own plans get put on the back burner and you end up chasing shadows .
Take the game to them and they are not used to it .
