Exactly what I was thinking. Plenty of players have done it in the past, but maybe theres a rule in place now???

Playing up front is more physical. All that jumping requires the use of the arms, and a strapped hand may give him a physical advantage (that knock-out punch!).

On a side note - how does Cech get away with continually playing with a helmet?

I'm sure he had a successful operation? I thought he wears it just to be safer in the future.

not too worried, not a long term lay off. and its not like last season when we didnt have any cover up front. give crouch a chance to get a run out and show us what he can really do

Its more to do with the fact that once you break any bone, yeah it heals, but its never as strong as it once was. Unless he's got a metal plate in his skull, I'd say it was for his own safety. If he got caught like that again it could be game over. I'd wear a crash helmet lol

Don't you just snap the broken fingers back into place? I think Skrtel had broken a finger for Liverpool last season and that's what they did with him...apparently it's painful for a while but that's the way they normally deal with broken fingers.

Only for dislocations (which was the original analysis)...but it looks as though its more serious than that and thus require a cast of some sort.

It was a dislocation but they couldn't set the fingers back in , so they would have taken measures for the best outcome - even if it meant breaking things .

Harry stated that we need to be aware of set peices at Bolton and that instead of putting out the little guys he will go with the bigger boys . Does that mean Crouch and Pav ???

He'll be fine, but might as well rest him since it is still early in the season.

If he comes back as hungry and determined as after his last lay off then that will do for me LOOK OUT PREM DEFENCES
