From the two 10 minute spree's he had in the Wembley cup I'm certain that by the end of the season he will be playing regular football. If it was me I would be starting him already. He's got huge ammounts of confidence, he works hard, his short range passing is awesome and direct and his pace and acceleration are equal to his other assets. Compared to the likes of Palacios and jenas he should be starting on merit. I watch Palacios and he puts in huge work, crunching tackles and great tracking but then when the ball is at his feet he's a dribbling mess. Against Barca Youth I would put money on his pass completion being under 30%. Meanwhile Jenas just looked like someone who didnt give a ****.
thoughts?
I tend to agree, I think he should be given a fair crack and id have him over Hudds and O'Hara anytime. He is more of a complete player than both and always seem to look bright when he is played.
From the little i've seen of Bostock he looks promising & like several other youngsters coming through doesnt just appear to be there for the pay check / buffet for Tommy
Hopefully Harry can use the Asia trophy to give Bostock and the other youngsters a little more match time.
totally agree. Bostock next to Palacios
NICE ONE CYRILNICE ONE SON
Thing is though, Bostock didn't just look better than Jenas or Palacios because that wouldn't be too hard (fair play Wilson has played decent for us so far but last 2 games was dire), but you can see he just has that sort of quality in his passing and touch.
will this be the season he gets a look into getting some games of the bench????
Our cup runneth over with treasure ...... what a good future we have .
Its about time Arry sorted out the futures of Bostock, Naughton and the likes otherwise we"ll lose them, which may be a mistake.
i woud like to see him feature for us but not at the expense of Huddlestone, he was great for us last season and has improved greatly form 2 years ago where as although Wilson runs alot he doesnt do anything with the ball ahnd always seems to be a bit of a liability which obviously comes with the psostion he plays but even more so with him
Ive been banging on about John Bostock since the day we signed him from Palace, a lad with such promise and skill i just dont understand why Harry over looks him, when he was given a few run outs at the Lane he looked very good indeed.
I can only think he has an attitude now hes joined a big club which if true is a sad state of affairs, not really sure why he wasnt loaned straight back to Palace to keep him playing????
What i do know is this season he has to step up and be given a chance IF he wants it that is.
Carling cup would be ideal for him and Naughton ect
Yidno- his spell ended early last season at Brentford b/c of his shite attitude towards training and games. Going by the interview on talksport when Harry was talkin about young english players and how they've changed recently, all they want is a big contract and dont care to train and get their head down.
Quote from dailystar article about woody.....
mentions this about Bostock
"Meanwhile, Spurs boss Redknapp will tell starlet John Bostock: Leave on loan or rot in the reserves.
Bostock has failed to live up to his billing as a future England skipper since his controversial move from Crystal Palace in 2008.
The midfielder, currently on England Under-19 duty, failed to impress while on loan at Brentford last season.
And Redknapp won’t consider Bostock for Spurs until he plays more senior games out on loan."
not too good for you Bostock lovers.
Yeah i heard that interview too and that is very dissapointing to here saying that although true, the kids think they have made because there on 5-10k a week which is too much too soon imo.
The Brentford loan was a mistake, so we take a player from Palace where he was flying bring him to us then ship him off to the Brentford, im not surprised it didnt work out there.
