Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur have been urged by Portsmouth to make a bid for Peter Crouch or risk losing him to Premier League rivals Sunderland, according to The Times.
Pompey have set a deadline of next week for the Cottagers and Spurs to put in an offer, having already agreed a £12 million fee with the Black Cats.
Despite the Sunderland offer, it is believed that Crouch would prefer to stay in the south and is awaiting developments elsewhere before accepting the offer to join Steve Bruce in the north east.
It is now up to Harry Redknapp and Roy Hodgson to either put up or shut up in the chase for the England striker.

Yes, he is better than he looks, but thats because when you see him, you would think he's only there to change the stadium lightbulbs.
He's actually quite a strange player, actually ok with his feet, but no better than an average premier league striker, you are only impressed because you don't expect him to be able to do somes things bacuse he's so lanky. Its like when Jenas completes 3 passes in succession in a match. We all say he played a blinder, but its only because its a rare accomplishment for him.
The thing with Crouch is that people see a tall player and think he's good in the air, well, he not, he's crap in the air and even Owen is better than him in that department.
Why would we bid for Crouch when we have Alvaro Negredo & Huntelaar up front?

I agree his not real quality but he is proven though. I dont really want crouch at the lane but maybe were after two strikers and not just one. Cos the links from madrid are really strong
He's not the worst, but not the best either! Unsure about him to be honest. But, we do need some hieght in the box. Not sure he's a Spurs type player though.
