can anybody name the 1984 uefa cup winning team
Tony Parkes , Gary Mabbut , Paul Miller, Danny Thomas , Mark Falco , Chris Hughton , Graham Roberts , Mike Hazzard , Glen Hoddle , Tony Galvin , Garth Crooks , Steve Archibald ,( subs ) Ally D!ck , Ossie Ardiles
pity they are not still available for selection.
What a bitter-sweet night for Spurs that was.
Keith Birkenshaw's last game in charge - being effectively forced out by the board.. ...."There used to be a football club there" as he is famously supposed to have said!
Plunged us in to the Dark Ages from which we have never truly recovered!
Very true , Birkinshaw went out on a high - winning the Uefa , and a record comparable with Bill Nicholson's = haveing reached 4 finals in 4 years . He too had reached 4 finals in 4 years , he too had won three of them , including the UEFA cup , and he too had spent a season in dispute with his principal striker .
i was at the game i will never forget it i got home about half twelve we danced all the way tottenham high road .burkinshaw can hold his head up high he did a great job at spurs
why was he forced out by the board?
on an odd, silly note. my brother was born in 1972 and i was born in 1984, we mysteriously have a love for spurs that has no bearing on family, friends or aquaintances so it makes no sense that we support them. thus weve spent years trying to get my mum to have another kid so we can win another UEFA cup![]()
"It's about getting the best out of the lads and confidence. Life is about confidence. Whatever you do in life, if you are not confident you don't perform. It's up to me to get the confidence running through the players and if I can get that instilled you'll see a team that will really play." - Harry Redknapp - 29/10/2008
