How about Corluka? How do you find his efforts so far?
Great footballer i think, but does he fit well with the other lads in defence?
Can't smile without you!
Very slow I'm afraid but a step up from some of the others we've tried at the back.
Let me put it this way. It took almost a month that someone opened a thread about him, meaning you haven`t got a clue what a fantastic player you have. Just ask Man City fans what they think about him. Not to mention all the Croats.
There have been plenty of threads about Corluka - maybe not in this section, but plenty. Plus don't forget in between the close of the transfer window and the latest round of matches there was a two week break.
He has looked OK so far. Certainly much better partnering Woody at centre-half than at right back against Villa.
One of the only positives on Sunday was Corluka and Woody. Having seen LK play last week, I fear his playing days at the Lane are nearly, if not already over. He looked slow and in pain rubbing his knee.
But Corluka, as his replacement, looks strong alongside Woody.
Corluka played centre since childhood, and also defensive midfielder (that`s where he got his great ball handling skills). Then 2-3 years ago his manager at Dinamo put him on right full-back to use his great ball control and going forward abilities. Bilic also continued to put him on right back because Croatia had good players on centre back positions.
I would like if he played CB at Tottenham, primarily beacuse our NT would benefit from that, as we now lack quality on that position. I always see him as a right footed Maldini. Just look at his reading of the game and how he positions. He plays like he is 10 years older. Just give him chance and he will deliver. No doubt.
He is not explosive, but he is also not slow. He rather solves problems with his brain rather than running like a headless chicken. Bilic consideres him the best defender in Europe, and if you put aside him being biased there is no doubt he is not far from that. And the time is on his side![]()
His debut against the Villa was trully awful one of the worst debuts ever infact, his passing was terrible and was caught out of position countless times, was ok against Wigan but the bloke has a lot prove at Spurs.
Granted he needs time, but the hype by Croats over this guy is starting to look exactly that just HYPE!
F*ck Stratford!!!!
They over rate and over hype all their players to be honest. So do the Russians.:dontknow:
His passing seems to be crap and he is slow as hell, not much of a defender then if he can't keep up with wingers. Wingbacks need to be able to counter wingers, fast vs fast. Maybe he would be better just behind midfield and infront of defense?

If anyone is world champion in overhyping players, England is undisputed number one. The whole world knows that. Your defining of football is the reason your NT underperforms for years. You always put power and speed in front of technique and brains, the things that Italy, Spain and other world powerhouses have. They are the ones who could value player like Corluka. I can name you dozen of overhyped Croatian players, but Corluka is definitely not the one. He was voted 2nd player of the season behind Dunne by City fans. And you were able to see he is overhyped in 2 games. I can see a pattern here (Modric, Corluka, Pav, Bentley, Gio....all new players). FFS. Get real!
But why am I explaining this, when in a matter of months you will be the ones who will overhype him.

If he was more pacy he would be worth what we paid.
IMO we should have signed Kompany!!!
Camoli out!!!
I think he could do a good job as a DM, especially with modric attacking center mid along side him, they both have a understanding and would like to see it happen at some point. Its a shame Ledders is always unfit or it may have already been tried.
I think its time to send Ledley to the knackers yard. Never thought I would say that, but unless we move on from the past we will sit there as teams move past us. We started well with the lot to Sunderland, but didnt go far enough IMO.
Dont think Charlie is the answer as Woody is different class to him and we need somone of that caliber next to him.
Also dont think he will be the answer in DM. Again he isnt top draw.
Dont get me wrong I love the fact he can fit in RB, CB and DM but the last 2 he isnt top class in and will be resigned to filling in when Hutts wants a rest.
There is no way Charlie is about to sit on the bench. He was guaranteed first team spot for sure by Ramos. If it wasn`t like that he wouldn`t have come. Why would he? He was firmly in City first 11. Only solution for him being sub for Hutton would be sacking of Ramos and bringing a Scottish manager. Football fans are very much alike. Give them a bloke that runs all day like a headless chicken and gives always 100% and all that macho crap. Luckily, most managers are not like that. They need players that are tactically and technically great and are able to think few steps forward.

Talking complete trash if you think Huts runs round with a hardon and cant play. He is young and heading into the same class band as Woody and King (RIP).
Corluka isnt as quick as I first thought and would be superb if he had that extra yard of pace. His positioning play at RB is excelent. I didnt have the privaledge of seeing him at centre back but by all accounts he was solid but again short of half a yard. Again not seen him much as DM but he is not good enought to be top class in all 3 positions, if he was he would be at Madrid and not Citty or us.
As for being guraenteed 1st team footie...........None of them are guarenteed it as they are all complete dog sh1t.
As for all footie fans being alike, lets try not to get personal as you and the rest of my croation friends all seem void of any critical comments towards anyone/thing Croation at all.
