Sorry couldn't find a Ledley thread! Saw in the ITK section that Ledley wasn't staying around for longer and there are issues with the medical team.

Surely we need a change in there our issues can only be highlighted by Woodgates remarkable recovery at Stoke. I am pretty sure that the team has changed since Ledleys original injury but surely there is a better way of managing him. Bale seems to be injured way too much for someone of his age and this is since he came I recall him missing a large chunk of his first season and then coming back and being in and out - I think it originated from a bad tackle at home to Birmingham in December '07. Tom Huddlestone seems never to recover from this ankle injury too as well as VDV being injured on and off last season (covered in the ITK), Gallas seems to be ok for 70 mins and then limps for the last 20 when he's not being called upon.

It breaks my heart to hear reports of Ledley possibly not continuing. He embodies everything that I love about this club but there must be another way - could we ask Stoke how they deal with these injuries, could we bring in some more specialised medical staff, if we shift some more of the deadwood of the squad I am certain that for a weeks worth of Bentleys wages we could pay the annual salary for a specialised doctor/ physician that could solely work with Ledley. Clearly it is an area that needs improvement because with a full first team we will give anyone a game.

I totally agree with u there i remember 2 seasons back when lennon got injured he was suppose to b out for a couple of weeks and we ended up a couple of months without him same with huddlestone and after the run woodgate did i think our medical team just seem gettin paid for nothing maybe we should get stoke's medical team maybe we can a good run of games from king !!

the spurs medical team have been shite for years. remember when that useless christian gross come to us? even he laughed his arse off at the state of our physio department and said what a pile of crap it was, probably still the same tbh. really does need sorting out because with our we had suffered FOR YEARS with persistent injuries that just dont get better until players leave lol

its wierd isnt it, how like you say woodys played the last 5 games and i think all the game too for stoke, whats going on there ??


could it be a case of;

we didnt want to play to him and said he was injured ?? i doubt it as we need cover in defence
he was injured and no one knew what was wrong ?? again i doubt it because of the technology with medical staff these days.
our medical team is crap ?? possibly, we had that indian club doctor, who moved to liverpool a couple of years back, could that be the case of why everyones injured a lot ??

hopefully ledley can still have some role within the club, wether it be coach, or help out with the kids i dont know, would be better if his knee's got better instantly and played all game everygame, but thats wishful thinking.

Love Ledley, but I think its time for him to hang up his boots so potential top quality defenders we may be able to bring in in the future dont have to fear playing in his shadow.

Our injury problems are clear and have been around for donkeys years, we are nearly always top of the injury table league:

Consistanly sharing the top 3 with the scum and 1 other but I cant believe all the blame, or even a sizeable chunk of the blame can be placed on the medical staff.

Woodgates injuries far preceed his move to Tottenham, we'll have to see if his turnaround continues but I have my doubts it will.... and off the top of my head I cant think of many injury prone players who went onto new clubs and showed a dramatic turn around in fitness.

I think our injuries are partly as a result of lack of squad rotation, and partly as a result of trying to play nice pretty passing/ possession football. I think other, top teams rotate far more and potentially avert future injuries by resting players at the right times whereas Redknapp will keep picking players until they are injured and then using his squad to replace injured players.

We're also going to suffer significantly from other teams approaches to us as well, when we play Stoke their brutes are going to kick the crap out of our more stylish players, same to a lesser extent with many of the teams positioned below us so we cant then go to complain to the medical staff.

I think Bales a good example last season - he played for us and Wales pretty much twice a week from mid august through to the end of January, thats a lot of games, then picks up an injury. He then makes a come back and gets a horror tackle form Charlie Adam to keep him out for the rest of the season..... I dont think its reasonable to blame the medical staff for either.
